(Amber Helstea POV)

"So... Who's it going to be?" Uncle Rey asked. He took a sip of his coffee, setting it down on the round wooden table we were all seated around. We were currently having breakfast at the inn where the Twin Hors were staying at. As the group conversed, Aunt Alice was wiping off the chunks of food that had managed to escape Eleanor's mouth.

"Kuu!" "Kaa!" Sylvie and Airies both hopped up onto the table, with their heads held high. Even without them mentally transmitting, everyone was able to make out that, 'I'm enough to protect mama and papa!', everyone was able to tell that that's what they were thinking.

"I think you guys have to grow up a bit more before you can do that," I said with a giggle, and they hung their heads low; most likely out of disappointment.

"Sylviee! Airiees! Come here~!" Eleanor waggled a piece of meat in front of them, tempting my legendary, mythical children. Sylvie, who instantly began to drool like a starving puppy, right before she leapt into her arms. I began to laugh at the thought of some clever bandit luring Sylvie away with a piece of meat. On the other hand, Airies looked at it, seemingly uninterested. I guess he'll only go crazy for Arthur's cooking, which is fair enough. Arthur is an excellent cook!

Apparently, the Twin Hornes had recently finished a dungeon expedition, in which they found a hoard of treasure. This meant they had a load of free time before their next quest. So, it really wasn't about if they didn't have time to take us, but more so if they wanted to.

Adam, who was busy polishing his spear, decided to speak up. "Babysitting is not really my forte. Plus, with my attitude and personality, they might decide to kill me in my sleep one day!" Uncle Rey gave him a solemn nod. He knew what kind of temperament Adam had, and in turn knew that we weren't likely to get along with each other if it was just the three of us.

"Anyone else? I was actually hoping that Durden or Helen would accompany Arthur and Amber. Honestly, although I can't offer much, Alice and I are more than willing to compensate you guys in whatever way we can if you do this."

"And I'm sure my parents would also be willing to pay you for your time and effort," I added, while taking a sip of my tea. God, I really want some coffee! But I know that it will be harmful for my immature body right now. I have to wait until I'm a bit older. So, for now, tea it is.

"Don't talk like that, Rey. You too Amber, we're all family here. I, for one would love to accompany the little ones and watch them grow, anyhow," the gentle giant responded, his narrow eyes becoming even smaller as he smiled.

"Durden is right. You, of all people, should know that we aren't doing this for the money. Besides, we managed to get quite a bit of treasures off from of our last dungeon raid." Helen said, shaking her head.

Suddenly, a silent hand shot up, making everyone at the table turn to look.

"I would like to volunteer." The quiet and observant Jasmine spoke up.

"J-Jasmine? You, you want to go with them? But you hate escort missions even more than Adam!" Angela looked at her brusque companion in shock and disappointment.

Angela had made it clear about how eager she was to accompany us, but I felt like Angela would be a greater source of danger than any of the possible threats of an adventurer. I very much wanted children in this life, other than Sylvie and Airies of course. But I felt like the chance of by privates falling off because of something I ate would increase drastically if she came with us. Or worse, 'someone' might cut if off in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping. I gave a side glance to Amber and shivered at the thought.

I tried to lightly hint that she might not be the most suitable but even I was surprised that Jasmine would take the initiative to accompany me and Amber.
