[Rewrite In Progress] Chapter 9 - A Goddess

(Amber Helstea POV)

It's been 2 days after our little date and no one seems to suspect anything. I've calm down a bit, but I still get flustered when I think back to the moment. I had to concentrate really hard not to think about it when I'm not alone.

"Still embarrassed?" Arthur said with a chuckle. We were currently in his room training our beast wills and improving our control over our elemental affinities. Sylvie and Airies were in my room playing together. Everyone else went shopping to buy gifts for someone's party that we were going to go tomorrow.

My face must have given it away that I was still thinking about it.

"My my. I didn't think you missed me this much. To think you of all people would get this flustered after one little kiss. It's quite unbelievable the sight. This is unprecedented!" He said teasingly.

"B-be quiet. And how do you know I'm not thinking about something else," I said as I felt my face getting hotter.

"Oh. So why are blushing and have such a huge grin on your face."

"I-it's because it was so sudden. I wasn't expecting it and it took me by surprise. H-how do you expect me not to think about it." I tried to voice out an excuse, stuttering in the process. "Anyway, you still need to make me a triple layered chocolate cake remember. And you promised to cook for me in 2 separate occasions." I said, trying to change the subject.

"Huh. 2 different occasions?" Success! I got his mind off teasing me. "I remember I promised to cook for you on our day out, but when was the other time?"

"It was 3 days ago, when I confronted you. You said that you would cook for me if I gave you a kiss-," I stopped mid-sentence as I realised that I had fallen into his trap.

A devilish grin broke out if his face. "That's right! You missed me so much that you boldly got up and gave me a kiss," he said exaggerating what really happened. "Then I promised to cook for you to make you feel better."

I leaped at him and pushed him so that he was laying on the. I sat on top of him and started pounding his chest. "STOP MAKING STUFF UP! YOU KNOW THAT'S NOT HOW IT HAPPENED!" He started laughing as I pounded his chest, making me more embarrassed. I got up, puffed up my cheeks and sat away from him. He got up and wrapped him arms around me whilst sitting behind me.

"I'm sorry. I teased you a bit too much. Come on, I'll make you the cake now," he said softly. My mood brightened at his words.

"Really? Let's go!" I said as I dragged him out to the kitchen. We left Sylvie and Airies in my room and decided to call them when we finished making the cake. None of the maids were there, so we could cook whatever we wanted.

(I actually had to look up how to make a chocolate cake for this 😭😭😭)

"Help me find the ingredients. I need some sugar, butter, lots of eggs, milk, flower coco power and dark, white and milk chocolates. Bring lots of the dark and milk chocolates." he instructed me as he went to get the utensils. After a few minutes of searching, I finally found all the ingredients and went to give them to Arthur.

"Here they are."

"Thanks. Now can you get some of the sugar, butter, flower and coco powder and put them in a large bowl. Then pour in some milk and some eggs. Put the milk and eggs in last and stir for about 10 min." I nodded at his words. He smiled at me. "With you helping me out, I should be done sooner. Maybe in half an hour or so."

I smiled back at him. "This is actually quite fun. A nice change of pace from everything that we've been doing so far." I voiced out my thoughts.

"Yeah, it is." Arthur said as he got out bowl of melted chocolate, put some sugar and started stirring. "That's why I love cooking so much. It's really relaxing." He gave me the spoon that he used to stir the chocolate to taste. I used my finger to take a sample. A sweet flavour lit up my taste buds as the chocolate melted in my mouth.
