(Amber Helstea POV)
Water streamed down my face and body as I thought back to today's events. After the whole ordeal with the Dire Tombs, when we got back to the Guild Headquarters in Xyrus, we were welcomed by the ugly face of Lucas and his bodyguards. If Arthur hadn't beaten me to the punch, I would have removed his head from his shoulders right there and then.
Following that, a hearing was held to decide what to do with Arthur and Lucas. Arthur for his 'unprovoked attack,' according to Lucas, and Lucas for his betrayal, which lost Brald his life and left Samantha crippled. I couldn't pass up an opportunity like this, so I took advantage of the favour the Guild owed us from earlier. I told Arthur about my plan, which he enthusiastically supported since it would embarrass Lucas to the point where he wouldn't want to show his face outdoors.
After leaving him to do his part of the job, me, Jasmine and Elijah made our way back to the Helstea Manor. Arthur had managed to convince Elijah to attend Xyrus Academy with us, and after a not so long debate, he agreed to attend. Since he didn't have anywhere else to go, we invited him to stay with us.
Getting out of the shower, I saw Elijah on the other side of the corridor and decided to call out to him. "Elijah!" He looked back, and when he saw his eyes widened and just stood there with his mouth agape and wide eyed, staring at me in awe. As I walked over him, his eyes never left me, as if he was looking at something divine.
"Hello, Dicathen to Elijah. Are you there?" I asked as I waved my hand in front of his face. Be blinked a couple of times, as if coming out of a trance and managed to utter out some words.
"W-who... are you?" He asked in a soft voice. I felt my left eyebrow rise as confusion came over me. What was he talking about? We had literally just come from an adventure together. Was his memory that bad?
"What do you mean? It's me, Amber. Did you already forget who I am?" He blinked a couple times, as if fully comprehending what he just heard.
After a few seconds he spoke, "A-Amber? B-but what happened to you? You look totally different. Your hair colour is now silver, and your eyes are amber, no pun intended."
(A/N: Do the people in Dicathen have puns? IDK.)
My eyes widened in realisation and let out a little giggle at his surprised reaction. I had forgotten that I was no longer in my guise as Twilight the adventurer and that my hair was no longer midnight blue, or my eyes a light magenta. After giggling for a good thirty seconds, I calmed down and explained to him the situation. He looked at me in disbelief and let out a little 'Wow' when I finished speaking and looked at me like I was a woke being.
Going downstairs into the living room, I saw Aunt Alice, Jasmine, and my mother having a deep conversation about something. Aunt Alice and my mother were the mainstays, whilst Jasmine just sat there listening, a guilty expression on her face. They all stared at me as I came down the stairs, and the two of them started grinning like there was no tomorrow, and Jasmine abruptly jumped up as if she was going to leave.
She said something to them, then came up to me and said goodbye with a guilty little smile on her face, and quickly ran out of the house. Feeling a little suspicious, I went over to the duo and asked them what they were talking about.
"What were you guys talking about?"
"Oh, nothing. We just asked what you three did in your adventure, but we were surprised by an unexpected slip up that Jasmine made." Aunt Alice said as both her and my mother gave me a triumphant look.
"What do you mean by 'an unexpected slip up?'" My confusion had reached an all-time high at this point. I was no closer to finding out the contents of their talk now than in the beginning. However, from their crazy grins, I could tell that whatever their conversation was, it wasn't in my favour
