(Amber Helstea POV)

Warmth.

My growing consciousness allowed me to feel the comforting warmth that engulfed my soul. Rhythmic breaths sent a humid breeze through the long strands of my unkempt hair, waving it left and right. The smell of sunshine; a smell I had grown all too infatuated with, emanated from the body I clung to, and engulfed my nostrils like a smooth wave of melodic harmony; calming and gentle. It felt as if my whole body was being incubated in an oasis of serenity. I can't describe how blissful this sensation made me feel.

I gently roused myself from my slumber. My senses brought me to life in a haze, my body fighting me to stay in the warmth I was in. Slowly but reluctantly, my eyes opened. The light caressing and reflecting of the walls and ceiling dimly lit the room, allowing me to take in the view from where I lay.

The room was large enough for a double bed to fit into comfortably. Thick white curtains covered the entire length of the windows, making sure that little sunlight could pierce their barrier, blocking out any traces of reality outside. There were several pieces of furniture scattered about: A desk stood against one wall; tall shelves filled with books and vases on another side; along the far end sat what looked like a large armchair - similar to the ones I saw at the professor's office. To complete the décor, there was even a fireplace standing proud against the opposite wall, unlit but ready for use. The air smelled clean, as though no dust had ever graced these corners before. I breathed it in deeply. As the gentle aroma touched my nostrils, a small smile played upon my lips. I gazed at my surroundings briefly before returning my gaze to the person resting beside me.

My fingers brushed over a silky arm, revealing warm flesh behind the fabric. I trembled with joy as the warmth travelled across my hands and fingers, before bringing them together and tracing his handsome face. He was stunning! His eyelids were precisely coiffed, and his features were slightly tilted to show off exquisite lips and eyes that exuded a timeless feeling of peace, confidence, and charm. His muscular, athletic physique spread out underneath him, his chin resting on his chest. I took a big deep breath. My gaze moved over his shape, taking in the nuances of his anatomy and marvelling at the muscled mass I felt beneath the light, silky material, as his shirt gaped ever so little over the remainder of his toned midriff.

I couldn't stop myself from snuggling up to him, laying my head on his muscular chest. His heartbeat was music to my ears, sending delightful vibrations through my mind and into my body, synchronising our heartbeats. Our bodies merged wonderfully in a strong and passionate one-sided hug. My palm slid lightly over his ribs, feeling them rise and fall as he inhaled and exhaled. As his breath reached the pinnacle, he swung his arm around me and spun around until we were both laying on our sides. My heart would've skipped a few beats if not for the fact that one of his hairs landed on my nose and made me ticklish for a moment, enlisting a giggle from me before I removed it. I looked back at him to see that he was totally motionless and serene, appearing unaffected.

I lay there for a bit, taking in one of the few private moments we'll be able to get in our school life. We had decided to keep our relationship a secret, not wanting to be the talk of the town of how the President and a Disciplinary committee member were 'dating'. I was going to miss these intimate moments. Of course, we could go on late night dates, but those won't happen nearly as frequently as I wanted them to, seeing how both of us would be preoccupied by our respective roles. The late night walk yesterday had somewhat quenched that desire for the time being.

(Flashback)

Nightfall was already upon us, and after finally leaving the Student Council room, and in turn, escaping Clive's filthy grasp, I headed over to my dorm room to get some shut eye. The arrogant fool's yearning was so clear, it sickened me to my core. Even if I didn't have Arthur, he was a moron if he believed I'd ever settle for someone so beneath me, like him. I had to keep him occupied and away from me by dumping a mountain of papers his way, which Tessia and Lilia found amusing.
