LIKE THAT NIGHT IN THE BACK OF THE CAB, WHEN YOUR FINGERS WALKED IN MY HAND !

RUNNING FROM A bunch of gang members at the raw age of fourteen in the rain wasn't exactly something any normal kid would experience on a daily basis— unless their family had some type of debt, that's a different problem.

But in my situation, it was very far from that. My adoptive father had sent out his men to look for me and was told to bring me back to him— in one piece, of course. I don't think he'd actually have the heart to kill me or even hurt me.

The moment I exited the school, at the very front of the gates were the men that he ordered, searching not so thoroughly through the crowds of other middle schoolers that passed them. I was pretty sure that some of them weren't doing their best job since I easily slipped past a few of them as I walked out, trying to blend in with the crowd.

But unfortunately, most of my schoolmates had recognized me, quickly distancing themselves from me so now I was in the open, clear for the men to see and catch me.

And before I knew it, I was running away from them, throwing my school bag to the nearest one and turning a sharp corner to lose at least a few of them. Some had passed and kept yelling at the others to continue looking for me down the street I entered.

With the adrenaline rushing in me, it was enough for me to push myself up a very rusty car and pull down the emergency ladder, climbing it as fast as I can.

It's been raining ever since the morning, my clothes were drenched in sweat and rain water. I disliked it, but I had to endure it and keep running to wherever those guys couldn't catch me.

I didn't know where my feet would bring me, I wasn't very familiar of this area since it's mostly the more friendly people resided in this part of Daegu, these are where the more outgoing type of academically focused people are.

Soon enough, I found myself in a private school far from mine, it was nearing their dismissal since I could clearly hear the bells ringing from inside the buildings, students were slowly piling out of their classrooms with umbrellas, raincoats, or thick jackets.

I could only look at the other students in envy as they chatted with their friends, rushed outside the school with excited or exhausted smiles, sharing plans with each other on playing computer games or going to each other's houses.

Then out of nowhere, I heard them beginning to whisper things that involved me and pointed in my direction, purposely avoiding where I stood by the gate and speeding away.
