Carlos, Vaas, and the rest of non-injured pirates had already left on the supply run. They would be back in about 12 hours. I'm assuming, anyway. It is still dark outside, Batari and I are already on watch, looking after the base.

All of the injured men are in the building where my room, the captive room, and the planning room is located. There is more space there. They are also in the medical shack, the really bad ones. While I check around, Batari checks on the hurt men. We switch jobs every so often. Going back and forth and sometimes taking our own time together. It was a nice routine we had.

While I am alone, I have my thoughts. They fill my head and I can't seem to keep my family out of my head. I shouldn't be stressed, so instead, I decided to enjoy the view while I have it. It's been a while since I've sat down and taken in the view. Actually, I'm pretty sure the last time I did, I fell asleep and woke up to Vaas pistol-whipping me. Ahh, good times.

The moon is still up, almost full. It's shining down some light to be able to see around. Right now, out at the docks, the water is silently splashing against the wood and hitting the soft sand. The smell of salt is refreshing. It's the perfect temperature, too. Some island birds chirp out in the jungle, with the breaths of beasts still sleeping. This island is almost paradise.

While staring out at the water, the moon's light reflecting off of it, I get a turn in the stomach. I feel like something wrong is going to happen, I can feel it. I just don't know what yet.

I walk around the perimeter of the whole island and walk along the beach. The sand squishes around my boot. I search for anything suspicious, but gladly, nothing. I enjoy the waves, the sound of the ocean and wind blowing. The stars are shining as well, not a cloud in sight. I smile up to the sky and take a deep breath in. I think I needed this alone time, to enjoy the little things.

I trod back to the camp, not seeing or noticing anything weird or different. I start going into the medical shack and I spot Batari. She is bent over, caring for a pirate. Her head turns when I walk in and she smiles at me. I step to her, "Hey," I whisper, "you're all good here?" I ask, "are they all ok?"

She stands up and grabs her cross necklace, "Yeah. We're good. They seem to be getting better but some... I don't know, we need those supplies. I'm not a super nurse or anything, but they need real medicine. They've got really bad fevers from infection, some need clean bandages, you know..." she sighs and looks around again at all of them. I nod in agreement.

"I know. It's going to be around 11 hours until they arrive. They said it's supposed to be a big Cargo, that means a lot of everything. We need a lot of everything." I smile at her and she giggles. Some of the pirates groan and cough. It is very hot in this building, I'm sure they're not comfortable at all.

"I know." She says and lays her hands down, "Is everything looking good out there then?" She asks and I nod, "awesome. You do a full perimeter check?"

"Yeah, yes I did." I laugh, and I look around awkwardly because there is almost nothing else to do it feels like.

"I thought you were gone for a while." Batari whispers and starts to take a few more steps towards me.

"Yeah, I'm good, I was just enjoying the view. It's really nice outside right now. Stuffy in here, though." I state. She continues to walk towards me until she reaches me.

"I know, but it's not so bad here. It's just crowded." She grins and wraps her arms around me. I hugged her back. Her head lays into my chest and I brush her brown hair with my hand. After a few seconds of this, we let go and she kisses me.

She walks towards the door to leave, "Ok, I have to check this real quick, then maybe we can go further?" She chuckles and winks at me. I glance around the room, all of the pirates have bandages on their wounds. They silently slept. Some would still cough or groan, others would make comments saying that it's too hot. Then, they'd roll over and go back to sleep again. When I look back at Batari, I shrug and give her a smirk.
