- The Hunted by The RigsHello! Firstly, thank you all for reading and being patient with every chapter. This chapter had lots of modifications to it. I did my best to review again but there may be a good handful of errors and I apologize for any you may see. Furthermore, I hope you guys enjoy!
I hear knocks on the door and it wakes me up instantly. I sit up and rub my eyes to spot Batari already awake and walking towards the door. Once she reaches the door, she cracks it open, "Yes?" Batari rests her hand on the doorframe.
"Get ready, Vaas and Carlos are getting everything together." A deep voice says through the door. I slide out of bed and quickly start to get dressed. "Be at the boats in ten." The pirate demands and I hear his footsteps start to walk off. Batari closes the door, and slowly turns towards me.
"Hey Jase, sorry if I woke you." She says, tiptoeing toward me. I shake my head and sit down on the bed with my boots in hand.
"No, it's fine. I was already awake. Everything ok?" I ask, yawning while sliding my boots on. She nods and shrugs looking confused. I sigh, "well you're already awake. Are you worried?" I ask. She shrugs again and looks at the bed.
After I put both of my boots on, she sits down next to me. I place my hand on her thigh and squeeze. She sighs and grabs my hand. Her expression changes as she looks at me.
"We have 10 minutes then we need to be down at the dock. Vaas and Carlos are already almost ready." Batari stands up and grabs her weapon holsters. After they are secured, she places her weapons in them, "I guess..." she sighs again, "I guess I am worried. I mean I don't want to see my brother, I can't kill him, I don't want to."
"Batari." I say, "It may not even come to that."
"Yeah, but you don't really believe that, do you?" She says starting to put her hair up.
I frown, "It doesn't matter if I do or not. Anything can happen, anyone can change." I say, and start to tie my boots up. I sigh, "I know I don't seem very reassuring but you won't need to. He can change, especially if you guys are as close as you say you are. Besides, you don't need to worry about that, we are just going to kill the privateers. Focus on that for now." I say, now strapping up myself.
"Yeah." She whispers and glances down at her feet. I reach up and grab her chin with my index finger, pulling her head up.
"It's ok." I say and move one of her baby hairs out from in front of her face. I kiss her and she kisses me back. She smiles at me and starts to get her other things ready as I did.
I gathered all of my weapons and made sure I had my machete with me. I have a few grenades, some molotov's, and mines. I have my four main weapons, all had silencers on them. I take a deep breath and brush my fingers through my hair. I take a quick bathroom break for hygiene and because I just woke up so my bladder is completely full.
Once we are finished, we both walk out of the building and down to the docks.
Carlos is packing some crates on the boats, and turning all of the boats on. He stops us, "ah there you are! You guys ready?""Yeah, we're good." Batari says firstly and steps towards the boat. Carlos gives her a sympathetic smile and dusts his hands off on his already stained black shirt.
"Good." He says while taking a deep breath. Some pirates are assisting Vaas in placing a few things in the boats and a few others are talking amongst themselves in small cliques. Carlos looks around a few times and after a few seconds, he finally turns to us, "Alright," he starts, "so here's the plan, everyone else knows it. Anyway, you will stay together, this group of pirates will be with you." He says and points to a group of pirates, "You should only have the privateers. We don't know what exactly will happen, but we know that Dennis is going to be at Citras temple. The other two are told to be there, but it's not 'hundred percent." He says and steps onto the dock. He reaches over and is carrying a walkie on him. He hands me it.
