CHAPTER 17
[ 7797 words ]

IT WAS ANOTHER REGULAR DAY at work for jaeden and lauren. violet was at school, jaeden was in hair and makeup, and lauren was in the writer's room planning alternate plot lines for the producers to choose from in case something went wrong or stuff didn't add up. there was really nothing different about anything.

after lauren's said meeting and after jaeden finished with his hair and makeup, it was time for the job lauren was stuck with on her first day on the job because of her tardiness. not that it was a bad thing (anymore), it was fun being able to work with jaeden directly. one minute she was coaching him on his line delivery and the next thing you know they're gushing over their four year old daughter simply for existing.

they were sitting in jaeden's dressing room, opposite of each other on the couches with their legs side by side. they had just finished running lines and discussing plot points so now they were well — talking about violet. there really wasn't anything else for them to talk about.

"violet and i watched notting hill the other night and she loved it. then she asked if we too met at a travel bookshop like anna and william" lauren recalled, a soft laugh escaping from her lips which made jaeden do the same

"what'd you tell her?"

"i like this movie mama" said violet, leaning on her mother's shoulder. lauren smiled, ruffling her daughter's hair as she wrapped an arm around violet, saying

"i'm glad you do. this movie is called notting hill. it's a nice movie. i really like it"

"is dada in this movie?"

"no he isn't baby. we weren't even born yet! this movie is older than us!"

violet flashed her mother a quizzical expression, lauren knew that look. violet didn't know that movies were invented before her parents were born.

"that's too bad. i like dada's movies"

"yeah, me too". lauren smiled, she kissed the top of violet's head as they directed their attention back to the screen, watching as julia roberts delivered the ever so iconic 'i'm just a girl'  scene.

"did you and my dada meet in a travel bookshop like anna and william?"

"well — no. i mean — we also met by chance, but not in a travel bookshop"

"by chance?"

"yeah, basically it's like, even if a little detail had been changed before we met, like a decision or something, then we wouldn't have meant. so it's like, we were meant to find each other, you know?"

"oh, so how did you meet? what's your guys' story?"

"it's a long story. well not really but there's — it's a roller coaster. but i promise you, it's just as cute as anna and william's. maybe not as much, but still pretty cute"
