"It was nice to actually see you face to face again, you don't come around as much anymore." Kaylee's sister said as soon as Jahseh walked away with Jr, he was busy walking him to their car to buckle him in.
The family stopped by, Kaylee wanted to see her little sister and her niece, along with a few other family members. They didn't fail to make her feel uncomfortable. In front of Jahseh they were sweet but when he wasn't around that's when they'd decided to jump on her as if they weren't the main reason she stopped coming around anyway.
Kaylee rolled her eyes as she leaned up against the railing, her mom began to make her way out of the single family home. " You don't come see me, and when I do come y'all make me feel uncomfortable."
"That boy is too big to be getting carried, I was quiet about it but you and him are picking that baby up too much." Her mom came out, she said it low enough for only her children to hear.
One thing about Kaylee's mom, she loved to put her two cents in on how to raise a child that wasn't even hers. It annoyed Kaylee, a few tips and help was okay but at this point her mother just wanted to control the situation.
"He's a baby ma."
Yolanda scoffed. " He's just a baby." She mimicked. "I guess you'll still be using that excuse when he's five, you'll still be hiking him up on your hip then too huh?"
"Whatever." Kaylee waved her hands and looked away from her mother. "I'll shoot you a text when I get home." She spoke to her sister as she embraced her into a hug. "Bye ma." Kaylee didn't even bother to hug her mother, she was a bitch.
Kaylee was happy she wasn't cooped up in the toxic household that her mother raised her in anymore. At times when she thought about how she used to live in her past life, she didn't know how she even made it out.
Kaylee thanked Jahseh for showing her that there was more to life then what she was dealing with. That's part of the reason she stayed so close to him. Jahseh and Jr, they kept her going these days no matter how much they irritated her throughout the day.
Kaylee didn't waste much time walking towards their car, she couldn't help but mug him as she watched him lean against the car with a cigarette hanging from in between his lips.
Kaylee opened the door and got inside their spacious Mercedes Benz truck. Kaylee looked back at her son who occupied himself with his fist in his mouth as he looked around the back seat. She looked searched through the radio station waiting for Jahseh to get in the car.
Once he did, she became more annoyed. She hated the smell that lingered on him after he finished smoking, and she didn't want her son to smell it either.
" Can you spray yourself or something? you fucking stink." She spoke as he took the car out of park and started to pull out. Kaylee rolled the window down and turned to the side, obviously irritated.
"Don't start." Jahseh kept it short and simple not even wanting to argue with her, he'd been on edge all day running on little to no sleep. For whatever reason he couldn't even sleep properly, he'd been up tossing and turning all night while everyone slept peacefully.
Now they were on the way to the park for the sudden 'playdate' Kaylee set up for Amara and Jr.
