I looked on as Iris walked slowly over to our aunt after watching her for some time. She wasn't fond of her mother-in-law, that was clear to anyone with any perception. This was Iris's chance to get rid of her once and for all. Right now aunty had almost no standing since Jameson had left and Iris was going to take advantage of that. I clutched Draco's arm anxiously, "What do you think she will do?" I peered up at him longingly. He always knew what to say. "Whatever she does, it will be the right decision. She is a good queen." He smiled at me and kissed me on the top of my head. If he believed it, then so did I. He always knew how to set my mind at ease. We both watched as Iris approached her. "Hannah, I need to talk to you." She was saying one moment, and then the next, Hannah was being pulled away by guards. They got rougher the more she resisted.
I rushed over to Iris, "What happened? How did you get her taken away so quickly?"
she looked at me matter of factly, "I told her we had made it to the other end of the Isle and she caught onto the rest." She turned to walk to her quarters and I quickly followed. "What about Jameson?"
"She asked me where he was and as soon as I said he left, she knew all about that too. It seems that he and his mother have both been keeping secrets for a long time." She paused to face me, "I expected this from him, but I don't hold it against him."
"You don't?" I looked at her in shock. If it was me, I would hold it against him forever.
"He has been this way since we were children. Always trying to antagonize me and get a rise out of me. This is typical of something he would do. And besides that, he is following his calling and I respect that." She continued the short walk to her quarters and retreated, leaving me at a closed door. I was left baffled. I didn't know what she had planned for our nation now, but I knew it had deeper layers than she was revealing.
