——
Another day, all alone inside of the biggest park in Ninjago City. This is where all of the poor people tend to stay around or orphans who have chosen freedom instead of a new life and family. The students who have ditched school for the day or a few hours. The birds who harass the elderly into giving them bread crumbs. And then the families and friends just spending quality time with each other.

I wish I had that. I wish my life was different. I wish that my parents hadn't died at my birth. I wish I had someone to be my guardian. I wish I could live a normal life. But will any of this ever happen? Of course not! Not to a poor, homeless, little girl like me.

As I pick up an apple that sits next to me, that I stole from someone earlier, an older man walks over to me.

"Hello there little girl. Would your name possibly be Y/n?" The man questions me as his eyes look straight into mine. I notice as I look into his eyes that they represent a soft, gentle and kind soul. But one that can also play up sometimes and be a bit childish.

"Yeah, why?" I respond to the elder man as he takes my hand in his and stands me up.

"My name is Sensei Wu and you will stay with me at my monastery while I teach you to become a ninja and spinjitsu master of wind." I look at the man as if he were a ghost and blink blankly a few times to try and reassure myself that I'm not dreaming. And as if he read my mind Sensei Wu comments, "No, you are not dreaming my child. Now come, follow me to your new home."

I don't think twice and softly nod my head in agreement and take his hand in mine feeling a sense of safety. And for some odd reason, I feel as if we are somehow family. The feeling makes me go all tingly inside but also releases a lot of my tensity that I usually have on me.

——
*At the monastery*

As we walk in I notice that there is already 3 older boys, probably 18 or a few years older, practicing in the courtyard. "Pupils, you have a new ninja in training alongside you. She will be your sister." I look to Sensei Wu then back at the older boys. All 3 are dressed in black but they are easy to tell apart. One of them has jet black scruffy hair, one mostly white with a tinge of blonde hair, and the last with smooth almond brown hair.

"Sorry for being rude Sensei but isn't she a little too young to be learning how to be a ninja and learning spinjitsu?" The boy with the jet black scruffy hair does make a good point. I am only 12.

"Age does not matter Cole. Now please, introduce yourselves." Sensei responds kindly before walking into the building of the monastery.

"And what will you do master?" The white haired boy questions.

"That doesn't matter." Is all Sensei Wu says as he closes the door mysteriously. The 3 older boys then turn to look at me. I watch as one of them kneels down to my height and another one sighs as if he was slightly annoyed.

"Hey! My names' Jay, that's Zane and that's Cole." The almond brown haired boy points towards the other 2 boys names Zane and Cole. "Cool names. Mine is y/n." I comment as Jay stands back up.

"Well Y/n, I suppose we should begin teaching you..." Zane states before Cole picks up a stick and swipes it underneath me making me fall back onto my ass.

——
A few days have passed and I've learnt quite a lot. One of the things being how to defend myself and attack my enemy. Once you've get used to everything, it's actually quite easy and sort of fun!

"Y/n! Pay attention!" I hear Cole yell out to me as Jay uses his nunchucks and whacks them dangerously close to my face. I almost instantly put my thoughts back into the far end of my mind and focus on what's going on around me. I do a very messy backflip to avoid getting hit by Cole's scythe and duck straight after I've landed to avoid being hit by Zane's shurikens. Then grabbing onto the other side of Jay's nunchucks, I flip him over and have the weapon in my grasp. I use it to defeat both Cole and Zane leaving all 3 ninja on the ground.

"Your getting better!" Jay comments just before Sensei Wu walks out of the building of the monastery. The boys then get up off their asses and onto their feet and we all bow and show our respect for the older man.

"Students, you will be meeting a boy around the same age as you tonight. Other then Y/n." Sensei Wu informs us as he turns his head my way. "I see you have managed to defeat all 3 of the ninja." I nod my head in agreement and he does the same slightly and smiles. "She's really good!" Jay yells out impressed.

"You have taught her well." Then Sensei walks back inside of the monastery.

"So who do you guys think the other guys going to be?" Cole asks us all as we huddle together.

"I bet it's one of Sensei's relatives!" I exclaim getting excited to eventually being able to see new people.

"I hope it's not another ninja we have to teach. It's bad enough teaching you." Jay says gesturing towards me.

"Hey!"

"I think he might be a ninja, but probably with training." Zane inputs while picking up our weapons before packing them away. We all then begin packing up and retiring to bed for the day as we'd be up for who knows how long tonight.
