Chapter 11 - Spin Harmony

Quick A/N, I did intentionally put the song that the Ninja dance to to win the Blade Cup in, so when the scene/paragraph does come up, feel free to listen to it at the same time. Also, the song is called 'Weekend Whip' by The Fold.

Also fun fact, when the song says 'jump up, kick back, whip around and spin' it's actually how the ninja do their spinjitsu.

This chapter is also going to be a long one.

Over the past few days the ninja have been practicing singing and dancing for the Ninjago Talent Show to hopefully win the Blade Cup. So the night when the Talent Show is hosted, I went down into Ninjago City while Nya stayed on the Bounty waiting for Sensei to hopefully come back from his journey. As I find my way to the backstage, I eventually spot the ninja practicing before they go on stage.

"Then a kick ball change, barrel roll, barrel turn, and we all do the double wings-" Cole instructs the team until he's cut off by Kai bumping into Jay. "Ow! Dude you gotta follow me." Jay complains. "Follow you? You're 2 beats off!" Kai retorts as I walk over. "Actually, 2.72 off of the beat." Zane inputs while being too much of a big brain for my little one.

"Well yous better fix that before your performance." I comment giggling on my way over. "Is Nya not coming?" Jay asks turning towards me in disappointment when he can't see Nya. "She said she was going to wait at the Bounty just in case Sensei arrived back." I respond while Jay pouts like a little kid.

"Guys! Let's not make this any harder than it needs to be. Just stick to the plan and keep up the charade until the trophy's revealed. Once we steal the Blade Cup, we can argue all we want once we get back home." Cole jumps in explaining the plan.

"But this is your hometown Cole. Don't you wanna try and win it?" Jay asks slightly confused why Cole just wants to steal the Blade Cup instead of actually trying. Cole only groans in annoyance and continues to complain. "The only dance step I wanna perform is called 'get me out of this nuthouse and let's burn these memories from my head."

"What?" I assume Cole's dad says from behind us.

"Dad, I-" Cole stutters only for his dad to continue speaking. "You.. You were going to steal it?" Cole's dad questions in disappointment. Oh Cole's screwed now.

"Dad, I didn't mean for you to hear that but.. But I'm glad you did. There's something I want to tell you." Cole begins to explain while walking over to his dad. "All these years, I haven't been training to be a singer or a dancer. I found something new that I'm really good at. Dad.."

Cole then performs spinjitzu to his dad and stops once he's in his black ninja gi. His dad though only gasps in surprise and probably in disappointment at the fact that his son is trying to steal the Fang Blade or Blade Cup or whatever the hell it's called at the moment. The other 3 ninja then take off their ridiculous looking hats trying to show to Cole's dad that they're also ninja.

"And the truth is, if we don't steal that Fang Blade, uh, I mean Blade Cup. There's other people that will. Bad people. Serpentine. And we need it to save the world. And I know how ridiculous this sounds but I'm proud of who I am, and want you too be proud of me too."

"I can't be proud of any son who thinks stealing is right. And I'm not going to wait around to watch you make a mockery of our family's legacy!" Cole's dad exclaims while walking away from his son. Kai, Jay, Zane and I only walk up to Cole though to try and comfort him.

"Dad I-" Cole cuts himself off by groaning in disappointment in himself while his dad slams the door leading to the audience from backstage.

"I'm sure he didn't mean that." Kai puts a hand on Cole's shoulder.
