As soon as Avalon left, we contemplated our next move. It bugs me how quiet she's been, considering the fact that she almost ruined my relationship with my bestfriend and brother.
But first thing was first, I had to visit my grandma.
I asked Zayn if he can give my mother the news that her mom was getting ill and he gladly obliged. Considering my heightened emotions, I didn't know how I would feel if I saw my mother so recently after my change. A part of me didn't really care for her anymore. I guess being a vampire slowly disintegrates little things that would've bothered me as a human. The sight of blood, the sight of a dead body- which I would hope to be Cinna- and just overall things that I don't find importance in. The fact that those things don't bother me as much scare me to no end. It makes me wonder how far would my interest in certain things run as far as caring.
I slowly walked to the front door, and knocked. My foot tapping impatiently. Suddenly the door flung open.
"Nani?" Avalon asked, shocked to see me.
"Yea no shit."
"I didn't think you would-"
"Are you going to invite me in, or not."
"Yea, yea sure come in." she said quickly, and I raised my eyebrows in question towards the desperate tone in her voice.
"Does she know?" I asked Avalon, referring to my vampirism.
"No, I don't think so. It's better if she sees for herself. She's in the upstairs bedroom." She said quickly, before retreating to the kitchen.
I slowly went up the stairs, my body running with different emotions; worry, sadness, and a bit of curiosity.
How can a witch that's powerful enough to turn a vampire into a human suddenly get sick and have a limited amount of time left?
As the i slowly opened the door, I saw my grandmother fast asleep with a steaming cup of tea next to her. She looked so frail compared to the last time a had saw her. I didn't want to wake her up and decided on returning when she did, until my mother stepped out of the bathroom.
My eyes went wide as she loudly gasped and covered her mouth with her hands.
"My lord, I didn't think you would actually-"
I stepped back, as she extended out her arm to grab a lock of my hair.
"If you've known me all my life, you would've known that once I say that I'm going to do something, I stick to it until I've done it."
"Nani do you realize-"
"What I've done, yes for fucks sake I have. Everyones been telling me the same thing."
"Why?"
"I thought that since my happiness was short lived, I might as well make it last. So now you're stuck with me forever." I said opening the door.
"Wait!" She said, grabbing my wrist and stopping me. I looked up at her eyes and saw sincerity and regret.
"Please Nani." her eyes watered as I looked down at the floor. She grabbed my face in her hands and kissed my forehead, enveloping me in a hug. I stood there frozen, not knowing what to do.
"I know it's hard especially now that your emotions are heightened." she said pulling me away and grabbing my shoulders.
"But can you please just let me in?" I contemplated for a bit. The silence hanging in the air as her question lingered in my mind.
