“This headache is going to be the death of me,” Cassie mumbled, placing the pillow over her head to block out the noises around her.

In return, I chuckled, flipping through the channels on TV. Saturday morning shows were awfully boring. There was nothing really on but reruns of soaps, children’s shows & old cartoons that didn’t really catch my attention. I brought the blanket up closer to me, mentally cursing Mason for wanting the A/C on so early in the morning & especially now that it’s fall.

“Just go back to sleep, goof. No one has you up this early.”

I turned to my right to look at her, realizing I’d just wasted my awesome advice for nothing, seeing as she already knocked out before I could even say anything. Leave it to Cassie, of course.

These are times where I’m thankful we’re nowhere near being the same. I would hate to be in her position right now, still trying to sleep at 11:30 in the morning. I can’t by all means sleep that late. Eight is probably the latest for me. I like to enjoy the day, not sleep throughout it, especially on a weekend. I guess it was an exception for now, at least until I could think of a way to drag Cassie out of bed.

My phone vibrated on the end table beside me. Lazily, I reached over, unhooking it from the charger. To my surprise it was Henley- who I did not think was going to text me like she had said.

From: Henley Chambers

Time: 11:33 AM

Hey! I hope you slept well, girlie. Wanna do the bowling thing tonight? That is if you don’t have any plans. We can all go grab some burgers before or after. If you’re up for it, is 7:00 good? At Smith’s Bowling Lanes, by the way!

I thought about it for a couple moments.  If I brought it up to Cass before she brought up one of her plans, it would mean we would do what I wanted to.

Sounded perfect to me.

To: Henley Chambers

Time: 11:35 AM

Sure! 7:00 is good. See you then!

“There are much better things I could be doing on a Saturday night; you do realize that, right?” Cassie groaned.

“You mean like, not hanging out with your best friend?” I gasped, holding a hand to my heart playfully as if it had just been broken.

“Shut up, smartass,” she chuckled, shoving me across the bench we sat on in front of the lane we’d grabbed for everyone. Henley was running a bit late, so we were the first ones here.
