The one thing I could say I loved about fall was the cute outfits I was able to put together. Autumn was my favorite season by a mile. The weather was absolutely perfect. I loved being able to wear cardigans, cute sweaters, boots & scarves. Windsor Valley didn't fail you when it came to perfect weather.

And due to the fact that I was able to put together such a cute outfit is another reason I wasn't complaining about the party Cassie was dragging me to. As much as I didn't want to go, I was going to suck it up just for her. I knew how much she enjoyed going to big parties and like I said, for her, I would do anything.

I adjusted the olive green jeans that hugged my legs & made sure there wasn't a wrinkle in the ivory sweater. I looked behind me in the big closet mirror, watching Cassie as she put her earrings on near her vanity. Whenever we would go out, she made me get ready at her grandparents' house, that way I didn't come up with some petty excuse for not going after all. Oh, she knew me so well.

Right next to Cassie was the clock which read 9:30, meaning we'd have to leave soon- especially if I didn't want to park far. "Ready to go, Cass?"

"Yeah, let me just put this on & we're good." She held up her tube of lip gloss in plain sight for me to see what she meant. I nodded, gathering my keys & my purse, taking a double glance around the entire room to make sure I didn't forget anything. By the time I was done, so was Cassie.

"See you later, Mr. & Mrs. Cavalier!" I waved off to the two precious, older guardians that we're sat in their usual spots- Mr. Cavalier in his reclining chair that faced the TV & Mrs. Cavalier on the couch with a book in her hand.

I envied the kind of love they had. It made my heart hurt every time because I knew deep down my dad would never be able to share that with anybody else. And if he ever got the chance to again, it wouldn't be with the woman he imagined.

"We'll see you, lovely. Have a wonderful time tonight & be safe!" Mrs. Cavalier smiled at me before I exited the door, Cassie staying a few steps behind to properly say goodbye to the two people who brought her up.

Walking out, I couldn't believe how perfect the breeze was. It wasn't loud enough where you could hear the wind swaying. The night was calm, not a cloud in sight in the dark sky. It was the weather that made me happy.

"Have a good time tonight... for me. Please, Nani?" Cassie pleaded. I couldn't help but smile. I nodded in reply, promising her to try my best. To be honest, I just couldn't picture myself drinking the entire night away, flirting with every cute guy in sight. It just wasn't my thing. I knew that wasn't the only way to have fun, but how else could you if your best friend was having her own definition of it?

Once we arrived to the frat house, it was packed just how I assumed. Our parking wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. People already had a beer in their hand, fast walking toward the party. I knew Cassie was in a rush too, so I didn't bother to keep her behind with me. I enjoyed walking slow; I liked to take in the surroundings, even if I had seen them before. That feeling of being watched overtook me again. I didn't want to look scared, so I didn't bother to turn around. Instead, I walked faster than usual, thankful that the door was only a few steps away.

Awkwardly, I walked through the sea of people, looking like a lost child unaware of where to go. There were people that I obviously knew, but it wasn't enough to sit down and have a casual conversation with them. I walked to the kitchen, in hopes that I would find something non-alcoholic. I sighed when I found a 3-liter of a coke, grabbing a plastic cup & pouring some in.

"Not much of a drinker, huh?" a voice from behind startled me, almost causing me to drop the coke everywhere.

As I screwed the cap back on, I turned around to see probably the most gorgeous girl I'd ever come across. It was intimidating how pretty she was & I pitied myself for not being able to look as good as her. The way her blonde hair made her gorgeous blue eyes was literally... flawless. "Eh, my role is designated driver tonight."
