One Love (Nick Nelson)

A week went by and there was more people talking about Dani. Charlie has been hanging out with Dani's brother Oliver and I think they might like each other, they've been laughing at nothing when they're together, they smile at each other and whisper things no one else can hear. And Oliver blushes anytime Charlie is brought up in a conversation.

Recently, Dani has been talking to Nick a lot. She's also been talking to me about Nick during Maths class.
"Nick won the rugby game last night! I'm so proud of him. I think you could've done slightly better but it's whatever." Oh, was Dani talking? Guess I was to busy not caring to hear her.
"And then he smiled at me." On and on and on about Nick the rest of class. Dani wouldn't shut up about him. Nick this, Nick that. Does she ever shut up?
"That's...cool." I was tired of hearing about Nick constantly. All our conversations, she had to bring up Nick like she had known him her whole life.
As soon as the bell rang I got out of there as fast as possible, hoping to meet up with Nick to talk...

I spotted Nick across the felid, when I got closer I saw a figure standing rather close to him. The closer I got the easier it was to see that the person next to him was the one and only, Dani. I could overhear their conversation just a little so I ducked behind one of the punching bags.

"Nick.. I really like you, I was wondering if you wanted to maybe go out with me?" Dani's voice rang through the field, suddenly my heart sunk at the thought of Nick and Dani.

"Um, I...yeah, okay." Nick said subconsciously.

"Do you think you could walk me home? I get nervous walking alone." Said Dani, I heard their footsteps approaching and then a voice call out.

"Molly? What're you doing?" Shit, they found me.

"I was...um looking for my glasses. I dropped them over hear somewhere. What's up with you and Nick? Why're you holding hands?" I said picking up my glasses off the ground, I knew exactly why they were holding hands.

"He's walking me home, why does it matter to you? Are you jealous?" I looked down at their hands, Dani's grip getting tighter in his hand.

"No, I was just wondering. Now that I've found my glasses I'm gonna go home. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I was hoping Nick would chase after me and confess his love for me but he didn't, and that was the last time I spoke to Dani.

While I was walking home I passed by a home, outside were two people. They looked familiar as I got closer I realized it was Dani and Nick, she was leaning into him and he wasn't stopping her. Surely he would, right?
Wrong.
Dani kissed him and he just let it happen. I could feel my heart swell and my eyes became foggy. I continued to walk faster until I got home.

"Molly! Are you home?" My mum called from the living room. I wiped my tears and quickly responded.

"Yeah! What's up?" As I entered the living room, three people stood. The first one was a tall man with black hair and dark skin. The second one was a shorter woman with strawberry blonde hair, her skin the color of sand. And the third was a boy, he had dirty blonde hair and his skin was a mix of the man and woman.
"Mum who are these people?" I inquisitively asked setting my bag down on the sofa.

"You'll be staying with this family for the time being!" Mum had a huge smile on her face as she pointed to  the man, woman and boy.

"What? Mum, Why would they be my-? What did I do?"

"I was hoping I could get away from Europe for a bit, and go to America! Mr and Mrs. Peterson will keep watch over you until I return." Mums face full of excitement, my face full of sadness.

"Hello, you must be Molly? I'm Eliza, this is my husband Tom and our son, Jared. (Ifykyk😉)"
I stood in disbelief at the fact my mum was basically giving me up for her own good? I mean I'm her daughter, she's giving me to a random family for god knows how long.
I pulled my mum aside.
"Mum why can't I go to America with you?"

"Because I'm always around you and I want time away from you! That's why!" She whisper yelled.

"So your giving me to random strangers? I'm old enough to take care of myself!" Even though I was only 16, I'd known how to take care of myself since I was 10. Before my father disappeared, my parents would fight all the time. My mum was never home, and when she was they were always fighting. So one day my dad up and left in the middle of the night, he left a note on my dresser as well as my sisters, the note had 10 dollars and a promise ring. I've never taken the ring off ever since. When I was little I would wear it on a chain, like a necklace until I was big enough to wear it on my finger.
My mum was never home after that and my sister was always at work, so I was left home alone with my then cat, Toad. And my then dog, Franky.

"Because you're a teenager and I know what teens do when their home alone. They throw parties and have sex and do drugs. I'm not stupid, I was a teenager once." I just rolled my eyes before walking back into the living room.

"It was great meeting you, I'm going upstairs now. Thank you for your time." Smiling, I walked out of the living room and up the stairs to my room. I threw myself on my bed and cried.
