Heading Back Home

Neos remained on his knees, unable to find the strength to move a muscle in his body; meanwhile, Sub couldn't help but keep quiet, for he couldn't find any words to help the situation. Yet again, both men felt completely useless to help Steve; a feeling they hadn't felt in over two years, but still hurt just as badly as it did back then. It was at this time that both individuals simultaneously received a call on the digital watches they both had on their wrists, and to their surprise, the call was from Grimmus. Upon realizing this, the two quickly took their portable ear pieces out from their pockets and placed them in their respective ears before answering the call.

Neos: Grimmus? Grimmus, you there?

Grimmus: Neos! Oh, thank goodness I got ahold of the two of you! Look, I've already sent a transport aircraft to pick the two of you up. You have to hurry and get back here if we want any chance of rescuing Steve.

Neos: Ok, we'll be right there. See you in a bit.

After hanging up the call, Neos stood back up patiently, with Sub remaining in his same position. Xander began to make his way over to the brown and blue haired males, questioning what they plan on doing next.

Xander: So, you two are heading back to TerraPrime, huh? I hope all goes well there.

Neos: Oh, you do? Really, I wouldn't have been able to tell based on how quick you were to turn us away when we asked for help.

Xander: Listen, Como has been allies with Terra for sometime now, but I must put my kingdom's safety first-

Neos: Don't you dare give me that shit. We stayed right here and helped you protect your kingdom without hesitation, even after you told us off, and ya know what happened because of that? Well, let me tell ya, my brother got taken, which means Herobrine now has the Delta element in his possession, and if he manages to harvest it from Steve and recreate his body, then that'll mean the end for TerraPrime, Como, and this entire universe, along with the rest of the multiverse. But, you have to protect your people. Do that, then, but whenever Herobrine decides it's your turn to suffer.. don't come asking us for help.

As soon as Neos finished his final statement, Sub noticed the transport aircraft Grimmus had sent nearing their location in the distance.

Sub: It's about time to go, Neos.

Neos: Yeah. Sure thing.

Neos turned to join Sub as they waited for the closely approaching transport aircraft, which was in the form of a jet black, two seated helicopter. As soon as it landed, they both hopped in, which would be followed by the helicopter ascending into the now somewhat starry sky and heading back in the direction of TerraPrime City. After just about half an hour, the helicopter made it back to the Helipad on top of Infinity Tower, and as soon as it did, Neos and Sub practically jumped out to make it down to the top floor, where Grimmus eagerly awaited them. As soon as they made it to said floor, they were greeted with the sight of Grimmus fiddling with two massive machines that carried the appearance of two metallic beds, with weird looking head rests at the head of them.

Neos: Grimmus, what are these things?

Despite being spoken to, Grimmus kept hard at work, but was still able to make conversation; something that the two Elementals always found quite impressive about him.

Grimmus: Just a little something I've had stashed away for awhile. These are what's going to give you one last chance to save Steve and stop Herobrine.

Sub: Uhhh, could you maybe be a bit more specific?

Grimmus: Oh, believe me, I can always be a bit more specific. Essentially, when I first discovered the existence of Herobrine in the digital world, it got me thinking: what if we could send the consciousnesses, or better yet, the souls of other individuals into the digital world along with him? See, since Herobrine got a leg up in terms of planning on us; what with me being trapped and all, he was able to create a replica of the hard drive that runs the main computer, and transferred his consciousness into it, which means that we can't get rid of him through the main computer like we would've initially been able to. With that being said, even though he's no longer linked to TerraPrime's main computer, that doesn't mean he isn't linked to the cloud, which means if we can establish a wireless connection in the form of sending another pair of consciousnesses into the digital world along with him, we can delete him that way.

Sub: And I'm assuming that's what these uncomfortable looking beds are for?

Grimmus: Precisely! These are what I like to call the Soul Translation Devices. Upon linking yourselves up to them, they'll be able to translate your very soul into that of digital code, which will allow you to launch yourselves into the digital world. Now, your bodies will remain here, of course; however, that doesn't exempt you from feeling pain. To be truthful, this is a bit of a suicide mission. Your souls may be getting converted into code, but they're still your souls, and they're something you can't live without. So if you end up dying in there, you're not gonna live to see another day out here. On top of that, he's a virus in that world. He's only been able to do all of this because he's managed to dig his corruption so deep into the code without being noticed, that he'll likely be in far greater control of that world than the two of you.

Neos: What exactly are you trying to say?

Grimmus: What I'm trying to say is it's gonna be just like when you encountered his Null robots here. It'll be-

Neos: His turf, his rules.

Grimmus: Yeah... That's pretty much the case... I'm sorry I can't provide a better option, but sadly, it's the best I can come up with in the time we have.

Neos looked down at the floor and clenched his hands together in the form of fists, knowing that if he wanted to save his brother, he'd have to put his life on the line, just as Steve had done for him so many times before.

Neos: I have to do it. The fact is Steve's protected me from far worse more times than I can count... Helping him now.. is something I have to do... Even if it costs me my life, I have to at least try and save him.

Sub: Well, don't think you're going alone.

Neos looked up to see Sub with his casual grin and carefree look, shocked at how quick even Sub was to accept such a risk.

Neos: Sub, hold on a second. You don't have to do that.

Sub: Why not? Because he's not my brother? Listen man, you may be his brother, which means you may have known him way longer than me, but believe me, you're far from the only person he's helped out a time or two. He gave me a place to call home when I had nothing but the mountains. He gave me a group of individuals to call family when I was all alone without even any parents to care for me. I may have only known him for a little over four years now, but he's helped me more than anyone ever has in life, so if you think you're gonna be the only one that goes in there to try to save him, you've got another thing comin'.

Neos became touched by the words that had just left Sub's breath, as a soft smile gently creeped onto his face, and without waiting any longer, that soft smile quickly became a stern one filled with determination, and with it, he began to process the plan that was being presented.

Neos: Alright then, so we send our souls into the digital world, a place where we'll be at a massive disadvantage, could very easily die, and try to delete the conscience of the man who has been trying to kill us for years; all while being able to do this because of a machine where the abbreviation for it is literally S.T.D... Ya know, I can't believe I'm saying this out loud, but I honestly feel like the odds are more in our favor than usual.

Sub: Well, I don't know about that, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Grimmus: So, are you guys ready for this then?

Neos: Yep! Time for us to do a little hack attack.

As Neos and Sub prepared to enter the digital world, over the middle of the ocean, the VTOL that had picked up Steve and Mod hovered, and as Steve woke up with his body still weak from having to heal all of the wounds, he would be met with the sight of the inside of said VTOL; however, despite the resting Mod robot, weird compartment next to it, and replication of the main computer from Infinity Tower being sights in his still blurred vision, the first thing he truly noticed was that he was trapped in a type of giant pod that happened to be hooked up to what looked like a jet black coffin.

Steve: Where.. am I?

???: Rise and shine, Stevie boy!

Steve turned to face the computer, realizing that Herobrine's signature appearance of a jet black screen with a set of pearl white eyes had appeared on the main screen.

Steve: Herobrine? What have you done with Neos and Sub?!

Herobrine: Oh, don't you worry, they're fine; however, you won't be able to say the same shortly. It's time to begin the transference.. of the Delta element!
