"I've never been to a drive-in before," Steven said, looking over at you as you parked the car.

"I know," you laughed. "You've only mentioned it a hundred times when I said we should come here."

You had suggested going to a drive-in when you found out that there was one in London. You had always loved going to them when you were younger, and you'd been longing to go to one ever since you moved to England. You'd thought it would never happen, unless you made a trip back to the US solely for the occasion.

When you brought up the interest to your co-worker, Steven, he returned the next day with a list of every drive-in in England organized by the 5-star to 1-star ratio, a list of the pros/cons of each location, and the current movies being shown at each location. It was so sweet, so endearing, that you immediately invited him to join you. And oh, the way his face lit up when you asked? You'd do anything to see Steven look that happy again.

Steven ducked his head down. "Sorry, I—"

You reached over, grabbing his hand. "Hey, I'm just teasin'. I love hearing you ramble, you know? It's really cute to see you be so excited over something."

"It's cute?"

"Really, really, really cute," you corrected. "Now, c'mon, help me set up the chairs and then we can go get some concessions, yeah?"

You both got out of the car. Once the chairs were taken out of the trunk and set up beside the car, Steven went back to the car. What was he doing? There were only two chairs? Had he put something in there and you just hadn't noticed?

"Gotta get you some blankets," Steven said from the car. He shut the trunk, walking over to you with a bundle of blankets in his arms. He smiled when he stopped in front of you. "Keep you warm, yeah?"

"Steven Grant, you are the sweetest, kindest, most sincere man I have never met," you said. You stepped closer to him, leaning in and pressing a kiss to his cheek. "Now, let's put these down and get some popcorn and candy. My treat."

"Oh, no, I can pay for us—" Steven said as you pulled him towards the concessions.

"Shh, I'm the one who asked you on the date, so I get to pay. When you take me on the next date, you get to pay."

"There's gonna be another date?"

"I mean, as long as I don't scare you off by the end of the night."

Steven's eyes widened so much it was almost comical. "No, no! You could never scare me off! You're amazing! I mean, you're you! I'm still in shock that you asked me out, because I really wasn't expecting it and—"

You grabbed his face, pulling him close, pressing your lips to his. When you pulled away, he followed after you for a second, his lips chasing yours. "You really are the sweetest man I've ever met."
