Her pov*
First day back after winter break. Basically new schedule and new classes. It's exciting, hopefully I get more classes with my friends.
I love the first day back, it's refreshing almost. Yeah, breaks over, but we get to wear new clothes from Christmas and talk about what we did for the past two weeks. I love that part, just catching up.
I went to my first few classes then to my new one, biology. I already strongly disliked science so this wasn't gonna be fun. I wasn't that good at it either. And I came to find out that I didn't have really any friends in that class as well. The teacher announced that we were gonna have a seating chart in the following days, it was almost a relief so I didn't have to choose random people to sit with every day by choice.
The rest of the day went smoothly, I liked my classes for the most part and I just got a little hint about how my new teachers were. And I got my good friend Hannah is a couple classes.
Somehow that night I got lucky and no drama. Nothing, nada, nothing. I was surprised but still scared that at any moment something would come a ruin it. But nothing did.
Got new seats in alot of my classes. Including Biology. Got sat at a table with two other people. Random people, really. Across from me sat a boy I've never had a class before with. I don't think I've even seen him around, but maybe I just don't pay enough attention.
He had dirty blonde hair pulled back a bit in a beanie and wore a mauve sweatshirt with the vans logo. As far as I could tell without being creepy and staring, was that he had hazel eyes.
The person who sat in the middle was some stoner kid that I knew about but never saw because he never really showed up to class. He was actually kinda scary, but wasn't mean. He had black skater hair and dark eyes and was kinda gothic.
"Okay, you should all introduce yourselves and say something about yourself, to your table mates." Our teacher announced.
The stoner kid sighed and sat up.
"Sup, I'm Grant, and ... Hmm I probably will end up skipping 80% of the time for this class." He said and looks at both of us.
I looked at the kid across from me to see if I was gonna go or him and I just decided to go. I sat up and said ," Sage, and I suck at introductions."
The kid across from me smiled and Grant sat back in his seat.
"I'm Matthew, and I think Sage doesn't suck at introductions as much as she think she does." He said.
I shook my head shyly as I didn't know how to respond. The teacher interrupted and said time was up and got going with class.
I met up with my group of friends at lunch, like usual.
"Hey! This friday we should have a movie night!" My friend hannah said
"Yeah, we should hmm go somewhere different. We always go to my house, how bout Sages?" Kelsey suggested. She was another one of my good friends.
"Uh let's not." I said in a joking way although I wasn't kidding.
"Why notttttt?" Hannah whined.
"Yeah, I've never been to your house." Emily whined
"No, I don't want to do it at my house." I said seriously and they backed off and started planning for someone else's house. We ended up at Hannahs. Yes finally something to do instead of being at home where I KNOW, my mom will be drinking. For sure.
After lunch I went to my 5th period and then to my English class. I loved it, I loved English and I loved my teacher.
When I walked in our teacher already had a seating chart, usual, and was placing students in the correct seating. One by one she went down the class list. I was near the bottom of the list as my last name was indeed 'waters'. But she was going backwards.
"Sage waters, here." She pointed to a desk. I went to it and sat down. She went set everyone somewhere.
Then, I noticed that Matthew had walked in.
"Matthew Espinosa, right over here." She called and he walked over and sat in his desk across the room. I didnt know we had this class together. He saw me and grinned and shrugged.
After class, I walked out and was scouting our Hannah, because her class was by mine.
"Hey," I hear a voice and look to my side. It was Matthew.
"I didn't know we had that class together.." he told me.
"Me neither." I replied.
"Who are you looking for?" he asked.
"Uh, my friend, hannah." I told him
"Oh, okay, I'll see you tomorrow!" I told him as I spotted her and rushed over to her.

As the weeks went on and we were a good month into school, things were all nice and settled in. Grant hasn't really shown up to biology just as he said he probably wouldn't. Of course our teacher had us doing labs as a table group so Matthew was always my partner. Almost everyday I would greet him with a hey or what's up. Then move and sit next to him depending on if Grant decided to show up. We would make small talk about our other teachers or how stupid a test was or whatever was going on. I have come to find that I am not very good at grasping concepts in this class. And well, Matthew is. He's basically pulling me through this class.
"Wasss up?" I ask with a grin and take a seat beside Matthew at our table.
"Nothing much.. How was Childcare?" he asked me. He knew that was the class I walked from and I had told him alittle bit about it before.
"Fine, nothing special today." I sighed and took out my supplies for the class.
"Funnn." He said sarcastically.
"Students.. students.. Macromolecule lab today and write up this weekend." Our teacher Ms.K announced. I groan and roll my eyes.
"Someone's not happy about it." Matthew said quietly and smirked at me when I looked up.
"You know how great I am at write ups." I tell him
"OH, I know." he joked
Ms.K explained the Lab and we were off. Matthew constantly made me laugh but somehow we were one of the first groups to finish.
"You should PROBABLY, give me your number so I can ask you for help on this write up over the weekend." I giggled at him.
"Yeah I PROBABLY should." he smirked
"Stop being difficult Espinosa." I gave him a look.
Giving in,he put his number in my phone and his name as Espinosa. Then sent himself a text calling himself a peasant.
"Why did you send Peasant?! " I laughed. He grinned at his phone and looked up and I got a reply.
It said, 'Am not'. I just shook my head at him.
"Maybe you can actually share your intelligence with ME, and help me with our essay this weekend." he shrugged. My favorite subject, English, was his least favorite subject.
"MAYBE, maybe I can." I laughed as the bell rang and I packed my stuff and left the room to go to lunch.
