His pov*
"So what's the plan?" My dad asked us in the back seat. He had turned the car on and was trying to heat the car up by letting it run. I looked over at Sage who looked up from her phone and I notice pd the abundance of text messages she was reading through. Ms.Popular over here.
"Wanna go home now? Or hang out for a bit?" I ask her and I see my dads stare in the rearview mirror.
"Uh well I definitely don't want to go home." she laughed.
"Okay to our house then!" I say and my parents nod.
We drive home and just talk football most of the way. My dad and I at least.
When we arrived home, Sage showed me this really funny tweet having to do with the losing team and I was dying of laughter.
"Matthew, oh my gosh what is SOOOO funny?" my mom laughed at me and I couldn't even make out a word because I was too busy catching my breath and clenching my stomach.
"Hey Espinosa, let's go inside I'm done being outside for the night." Sage called after me and started walking to the front door following my parents. I collected myself and ran to catch up with them.
"I just realized I never showed you my room, or upstairs for that matter." I say. I had to put my duffle bag away in my room.
"True, you have not." She said. I motioned for her to follow me.
"Leave the door open!" my dad called from the kitchen and we both pretty much awkwardly tried to ignore the comment.
"Okay," I said breaking the silence once getting to the top of the stairs.
"That's my parents room," I say pointed down one hall.
"This is a bathroom, this was my sisters old room.." I say pointing.
"Oh yeah I remember you mentioning your sister." she states.
"And my room." I finished, then walking in.
"You're lucky I cleaned it yesterday" I joked.
"Uh huh.." she joked and sat on my bed as I threw my duffle in my closet not really wanting to deal with.
"It's cute." she said looking around and back at me. I put my hands on my hips and replied rather sassily, "Is not! It's very manly" I said in a deep voice causing her to smile.
"No it's cute." she argued.
"Not gonna argue with a girl.. I know better." I laughed. Causing her to smile and stand up, "Wise man you are."
She left my room and followed her back down stairs.
"What do you want to do?" she asked me when reaching the bottom of the stairs.
"Hungry?" I ask her.
"Not really. But I could eat?"
"Atta girl." I smirked at her and she rolled her eyes. It was nearly 9 already and I was thinking what's really good at 9.
"How bout I take you out for some milkshakes and fries? One of my favorite places just up the road." I suggest. She shrugs.
"Sounds good"
I inform my parents of our new plans.
"It's called the 1959 diner.. Off way drive." I tell sage in the car.
"Oh I've seen that place. I never really drive by it regularly though." she tells me.
We talk about school, and few people we dislike. I tell her about my friends and she tells me about hers. We talk about who we know and who we don't know. Like how I know one of her friends because we have a class together and how she knows one of my friends because he was in her 6th grade class and would always flirt with her. It was a good conversation.
