*Her pov*

There was a good two week window where life was going right. My mom was being a mom and my dad was getting along with the both of us. I was not yelled at, I went grocery shopping with my mom and didn't have any disagreeances and overall I only saw my mom drink on the weekend. My guard came down as though things were looking up, and possibly we were over the rough patch.

"Yeah I just don't know, maybe things will be different this year! It's almost exciting to think I might actually feel comfortable in my own home." I spilled to Matthew.

"I'm excited for you too, even before you told me things were going good, I could just tell you were happier." He said happily over the phone.

"Things are finally starting to look up.." I smiled to myself.

Then my dad went on a work trip for the weekend. Luckily I had a babysitting job that Friday night, and I just stayed there that night. When I returned home I found my mom hungover and grumpy. She expected me to deep clean alot of the house out of nowhere even though I had told her that I was going to have dinner with Matthew and his family.

"You live here, you clean, and I am the adult." She muttered at me.

"I know!" I said with attitude as I did was I was previously told. The tension we have constantly is what makes being at home so hard. But I tried not to think much of it, she was grumpy and unfair with me alot of the time. When I found her upset and angry on the phone with my dad before Matthews family picked me up, it really unsettled me. She was being ridiculous and utterly stupid. She was upset about the alarm clocks and how to set it in their room. Since normally my dad does it, she didn't have a clue nor could she even try to figure it out?¿

Then I left and went out to Matthews parents car and hopped in. Matt was in the process of getting out and coming to my door. Without a word, I got in. Followed by Matt with a confused look as he shut his door.

"What's going on?" He asked me whist pulling his seat belt over his shoulder.

"Nothing. How are you guys?" I said with a deep breath to clear previous thoughts.

"Great. Italian sound good?" mark asked.

"Yes, perfect." I remarked and laid my head against the head rest.

Once we got there, I was quite excited actually. I felt like I haven't gone out to eat in foreverrrrr.

"That's a cute dress, I love it." Sarah smiled at me.

"Doesn't she look good Matt?" she smirked back at Matthew as we walked up the parking lot. He grinned looking at me.

"As she does always yes?"

I slowed down for him to catch up and he took my hand and made me twirl while looking me up and down.

"Looks like I'll have to start taking you out more often, since I can been seen with you in public." He laughed. So did I.

"That started out so cute.. Then went south." I paused, "Like you."

Matthew pretended to be offended as I burst out in laughter.

"You two! What happened to being all cutesy?!" Sarah exclaimed walking in the restaurant. I just laughed and Matthew kissed my cheek and held the door open.

"I was kidding, You look stunning." He said to me privately.

"I was too, except you WERE cute and now you're damn hot."

We were settled at the table in this dimly lit Italian restaurant that I came to adore, we ordered and waited for our order to arrive.

The craziest thing about the past few months is how comfortable I am around Matt and his family. Just sitting at a dinner table and talking oh so many times makes me feel so close and personal with them.
