Warning: mentions of murder, mentions of trafficking, homeless children, mentions of mistreatment

This society was messed up, to say the least.

Citizens were closely watched when outside of the safe confines of their homes. Hundreds of people were either sold off or killed each month. The entire population, after hearing the stories, lived in some kind of subconscious fear of someone...something that many weren't even sure existed. Around a third of the people weren't even seen as people, but as less than such, as monsters.

Hybrids were like every other human, just with ears and a tail that some could hide at will. Those who could would use this to their advantage, but it unfortunately didn't always work out. Those who couldn't? Well, let's just say that they didn't usually last very long.

If captured hybrids were lucky, they would be sold off to some rich human and maybe be taken care of. They'd be a slave, but at least they were alive. The children were favored over the adults and teenagers because they were easier to be brainwashed and less likely to fight back against their owners. But, no matter who was caught, they were all either killed, abused, used as a trophy or slave, or even all of the above at some point or another.

That brings us to Patton and Blaze Arrowood, ages seventeen and sixteen respectively, escaping Salisbury, England.

When they were younger, a few months after Patton's ninth birthday, their parents were captured and lost their lives while trying to protect the two. Ever since then, the brothers spent their lives on the streets, running from place to place, barely managing to get by. They had both learned how to hide their animal features, so at least they were safe. For the most part. Patton taught himself to play the guitar, so he and Blaze earned some money by singing on street corners and in local parks after school. At night, they slept in abandoned sheds and alleyways where they could relax and show their hybrid features again. As soon as he was able to, Patton got a job and worked as many shifts as he could while going to school. They were doing the best they could.

Unfortunately, these things must come to an end. Late one night, somebody discovered them and alerted the authorities. The two boys grabbed their things and ran, easily escaping the adults. After running and managing to sneak onto a plane, they found themselves in Florida. Now, all they could do was start over and try to live a normal life.

They stood in front of the local high school, hand in hand. They could do this.

"Ready?" Blaze asked, looking up to his older brother.

"Ready," he confirmed with a determined, yet slightly uneasy smile.

With that, they walked in and made their separate ways.

Okay- so there are a lot of things you need to know before responding. There are a ton of future warnings such as these and mentions of over binding, but that's just something to compare the pain to when they're hiding their features. This is a long term role play, and I already have a bunch of things planned for the future. I don't care who your character is as long as they aren't a girl, although I prefer Sanders Sides for this. You can bring in an oc (a boy) for a future relationship with Blaze, though! I can talk about more stuff with you if you're interested.
