Chapter 4: MY PAST

We reached Cape city in the evening.
"Oh God! You have brought me back to this city. Let me hope that it's for the good reason this time." I thought as I looked around and stared at old buildings that I left there many years ago.
The place still felt the same though some changes were made like new buildings.
"Wife, I want to pick something from the other building." Abie said pointing at the huge building.
"This building! This was my dad's hard work." I talked to myself. These people have made a lot of changes to this company." I added as flashbacks about our previous moments in this building came to my mind.
"Please stop. I hate you my mind." I spoke loud.
"What's wrong dear, do you know that you are scaring me with this strange acting of yours." Abie said.
"I was shouting at this housefly which has been following me."I made an excuse.
"Then you should have warned it in a low voice."said Abie smiling. Anyway, shall we go?"
I nodded.
Reaching inside the building I saw the horrible woman who had turned into my worst nightmare some time back, Mrs.Magie.
"How are you mom." Abie greeting her.
On hearing that, I received the biggest shock of my life. This can't be happening to me. I refused to accept it.
"I'm fine son. And who is this lady." 
"She is my best friend Casie." 
"Come, come and greet me my dear." She said smiling at me.
I felt hestant but then remembered that I had to hide my past from my husband no matter what happened.
I then hugged her. I wasn't happy with it. I was only questioning the Almighty for bringing me back to these people.
" I think you should take her home. I am almost done with work today. I will join you soon." She suggested.
"Alright is dad also here or he is at home ."Abie asked.
"He hasn't worked today as he was worried about you."
"Okay but come home soon because I have something important to tell both of you."
"Okay son."

We went to Abie's house. His father was having a discussion with a certain man in the compound.
"Let's go inside.  Dad is busy with his business partner and he doesn't like it when someone disturbs them." Abie said.
I was the newly wedded bride. I was supposed to prepare a meal for my new family but I didn't do that because Abie had introduced me as his best friend to his mother.
Thinking about that, it reminded me of what happened so I had to ask Abie.
"Why did you lie to your mom that am your friend."
"I know my mom very much. She would have made a scene if I told her that you are my wife."
"You don't have to explain anything about that woman to me as I know her very well." I said.
"What, you know her?" 
"No dear, actually I wanted to say that I have noticed that she might be so tough." I explained.
"She is not always tough. Sometimes she is good, sometimes tough but she is always friendly." Abie said.
Of course he had to defend his mother but I knew the evil inside her very well.
