Chapter 13: SCENE

"Alright then, let her come along with us but please come back home for goodness sake." Mr. John said as he hugged his son and cried.
"I will come with you but I have a condition." Abie said.
"What's that condition?" Mr. John asked.
"No one will mistreat my wife even when am not at home." He said.
"Alright, no one will mistreat your wife." He said and we left.

****Scene****
"Stop right there. Don't come in." Mrs.Magie instructed when we were about to enter their house.
"What are you saying Magie?" Mr. John asked.
"I see you have gone and convinced your son to come home behind my back. How could you not inform about it.
Actually that's not the reason why am stopping you from entering. The thing is you truly don't know what you are bringing to your house.
I mean to say you don't know who that girl really is and why she is here." She beat around the bush.
"What are you trying to say Magie?" Mr. John asked again.
"I think your daughter-in-law can answer that." She said.
"What is she trying to tell me?" Mr John asked facing me.
"This is what I was talking about. I can't stay here when everyone is questioning my wife like a thief." Abie spoke out with a rude face.
"No son, no one will do that. I am sorry on your mother's behalf." 
"You can go inside." He added.

I really don't understand why your mother despite me so much. What did I do to her. I have met her a month back but she hates me like nothing." I tricked him to see if Abie knew anything about my past.

"You don't have to hide anything from me wife. I am your husband and this will never change. I know you are saying all this to act as if you don't know anything that happened between our families many years back.
Yes I know everything and am sure you know everything too but this shouldn't affect our marriage. I know you are shocked to hear this and am so sorry but always know that I love you so much no matter what." He said.

"Abie come here. Is what I have just heard the truth?" Mr. John asked.
"What truth dad?" Abie said.
"Your mom has told me that your so called wife is late Gabera's daughter and that you are even aware of that. Is it true?" 
Abie didn't say anything. He stood there and kept staring at me to tell him what to do through gestures.
"Speak up." Mr John said harshly.
