Happy Birthday Mondo!

(Mondo's POV)

Just a normal day. I just want it to be a normal day. I don't care that it's my birthday,

"Mondo you're gonna be late! Not like you care." Daiya shouted to me. I scoffed and got out of bed. I didn't wanna go to school, but I knew two certain someones would hunt me down if I didn't.

"Happy birthday bro." Daiya chuckled as he gave me my lunch. I rolled my eyes,

"Don't make a big deal out of it you idiot."

"Cmon you fuckin stick in the mud! Ever since... the accident... you haven't done anything fun for your birthday!"

"And for good reason." I grumbled as I left the house, quickly heading to school. Daiya's retirement party was only a few days after my birthday. I hate it. I hate everything that happened that day. I just want my birthday to vanish. Then I can forget the accident ever fucking happened.

(A/N: Since there's no confirmed date for Daiya's death, my headcanon is that Daiya retired shortly after Mondo was old enough to lead the gang, aka his birthday)

I got to school already in a bad mood. I didn't want to go to class. I knew Taka and Chi were preparing a surprise for me. Probably confetti and... AUGH! Just thinking about all that makes me want to punch a fucking wall!! I shouldn't be happy that they're doing this!!

"Mondo?" My anger went away a little as I turned to Mania. She was looking at me concerned,

"You okay?" She asked. I sighed and nodded,

"Yeah... just a bad mornin." Mania tilted her head before smiling,

"I'm sure it'll get better. If you feel like skipping class, I know a place you can hide." She joked with a chuckle, punching me in the arm. I chuckled in return and ruffled her hair,

"I'd appreciate that, Mania." She chuckled and nodded before the bell rang. With a reluctant sigh I went to class, Mania going to hers.

"Happy birthday Kyodai!!" Taka exclaimed the moment I walked into the door. I flinched at his shouting before Leon and Chi pulled party poppers, releasing a bunch of confetti on me. I grumbled annoyed and just went to my seat. I sat down and glared daggers into the desk before something was placed there: a present.

"For you Mondo!" Chihiro said happily before whispering to me,

"As a thanks for agreeing to train me." I uneasily nodded before staring at the present. I wasn't about to hurt Chihiro's feelings by not opening it. Our teacher then walked in as I set the present aside, smiling at Chi,

"I'll open it later, ok?" He nodded and sat down in his seat. I internally cursed out the present like it had fucking murdered somebody. I just wanted to enjoy the day without it being full of presents.

I guess my wish was too fucking dumb to uphold, cause the rest of my class gave me presents. I just wanted to punch them all for this shit. Lucky for them I controlled myself, and managed to get to lunch without being forced to open any presents. I got to my usual lunch spot and sighed relieved seeing Mania. She looked up at me and tilted her head,

"You doing okay Mondo?" She asked. I sat down and grumbled,

"Just my annoying classmates."

"Even Taka?" Mania asked surprised, "Wow. What did they do?" I paused for a moment before sighing,

"They celebrated."

"Celebrated?"

"My birthday." I grumbled annoyed. Mania tilted her head,
