(3rd Person POV)
Mania awoke in her newly made bed, overjoyed after the events of yesterday. The group all celebrated a birthday for her to remember, and no way in hell she would forget. She looked at the bed Mondo had made for her before rising out of it with a content sigh. The bed must've been magic because she slept happily and without a nightmare in sight. She looked over at the brother in question as he was sleeping like a log, Chuck (A/N: the dog Taka got Mondo in his own birthday chapter-) sleeping next to him. Mania giggled and made her way downstairs, smiling from ear to ear.
She then noticed Yu in the kitchen, working on breakfast. Mania's excitement turned into meek nervousness within the blink of an eye,
"M-Morning dad- I mean Yu- I mean-!"
"Mania, you are an Owada now. You have every right to call me dad." Yu replied calmly. Mania nodded as she approached Yu,
"Whatcha makin?"
"French toast. Is that sufficient?" Mania nodded before noticing Daiya come downstairs,
"Morning Dai!"
"Mornin Mania." Daiya replied, giving Mania a hug, "Did you sleep well?"
"Mhm!" Mania returned the hug happily. Daiya chuckled and kissed Mania on the head (PLATONICALLY),
"Great to hear!" Daiya exclaimed, lifting Mania up to give her more hugs. Mania laughed and returned the affection by ruffling Daiya's hair. Yu watched with a soft smile before carefully setting the last plate of French toast with the others,
"Dig in, you two. Enjoy." The duo wasted no time to snag their plates before retreating to the living room.

Mondo and Daiya were heading out on dates with Taka and Hiro respectively. Well... date for Daiya and perceived date for Mondo. Either way this left Mania alone with Yu. Mania was flipping through channels lazily before Yu cleared his throat. Mania looked over at her father confused and muted the tv as he spoke,
"Mania... your brothers had informed me that... I had given you a lackluster preset... yesterday. In the form of that figurine." He said. Mania shrugged in response,
"Therefore... the two suggested I spend the day with you as recompense for the gift." The short pale girl looked at Yu before smiling,
"Alright then, I don't mind." Mania replied,
"Wonderful." Yu muttered softly. He then pondered over some activities the two of them could do so they could bond. He didn't exactly know how to bond with a child, much less a daughter. He didn't grow up in the best conditions.
A yip distracted Yu from his thoughts as the fox Ibuki had given Mania yesterday ran over and leapt onto the couch. Mania giggled and pet the fox happily. Somehow the fox was already housebroken and well behaved, so it jumping around wasn't a worry. Nobody still knows how Ibuki got the fox,
"What did you name her?" Yu asked Mania,
"Rio. She's my favorite character in this show I've been watching." Mania replied. Yu nodded confused and left it at that. He sighed and tapped his chin, trying to think of an activity,
"You don't have to try too hard, Isä." Mania suddenly spoke. Yu looked at her confused as she elaborated,
"I don't really mind us just hanging out like this. I never exactly had a dad before y'know..." she hummed as Rio leapt off the couch and ran through the house. Yu watched the fox before nodding,
"I doubt your brothers would say the same though."
"Well they're dumbasses." Mania laughed a little. Yu, however, stared at Mania quietly before she looked away meekly,
"I-I mean... nevermind." Yu just sighed and lowered his head in contemplation,
"...do you like cats?" He asked his not-yet-official daughter. Mania's eyes lit up,
"Yes."
"Then follow me." Yu nodded and stood up, making his way through the house. Mania excitedly followed along as Yu grabbed some cat food he had stowed away and heading outside. Mania chuckled softly,
"You take care of strays?"
"It helped me cope in the years I was away from your brothers." Yu said blatantly, like it was normal. Mania just stared confused before Yu entered an alleyway. He carefully crouched down and opened the cat food he brought along. Out from the shadows came a snowshoe cat, followed by four smaller kittens of the same breed. Mania's eyes turned into stars as she covered her mouth, resisting the urge to d'aww at the sight. Yu carefully divided the food up, making sure all five cats had a reasonable portion. Once the task was completed, Yu gave the food to the cats as the kittens all rushed over to get their food first. The mother cat lifted them up by their scruffs so they would behave before eating her own food. Mania crouched down beside Yu and smiled adoringly,
"They're adorable...! How did you find them?" She asked,
"It was soon after I returned, but before I met you. I heard the mother crying out in the alley, so I did my best to help her. Then she had the four babies, and I've been doing my best to take care of them since." Yu sighed as he relayed the tale,
"Why didn't you take them home with you?" Mania asked with a tilt of her head. Yu looked at her and sighed,
"They're young and feral. I couldn't possibly risk them getting hurt, or hurting me. Besides... I couldn't possibly take care of five cats at once." Mania looked at the cats sadly,
"But someone might take them away..."
"That's true..." Yu sighed. "But there isn't a lot else we could do." The ravenette girl looked at Yu before a lightbulb turned on in her head,
"Well... what if we coax them into staying near your house?" She suggested,
"What do you mean?" Yu asked perplexed,
"We lure them behind or near the house with food, then we give them food and a box for shelter there, and then they'll adapt to living there instead!" Mania explained with an ever growing smile. Yu tapped his chin as he pondered the idea,
"It's certainly plausible. But do you think it'll work?"
"The kittens follow the mother, so we just need her to trust us. Or more specifically, need her to trust you." Yu hummed at the statement before nodding,
"Alright. You get the box ready, I'll lure them home."

"Alright, we made it." Yu told Mania as he placed the last bit of food inside the box Mania had made. The kittens had rushed ahead repeatedly so Yu had to catch them to make sure they wouldn't get hurt or lost. Thankfully he only got scratched by the mama cat thrice before she understood he was trying to help. The mother cat and her babies sniffed the inside of the box before crawling inside, eating the last bit of food Yu placed there,
"Will they stay?" He asked,
"They should... I made sure neither Chuck or Rio had gotten into the towel I put in there." Mania replied. Yu nodded as the mother cat laid down, giving leeway for the kittens to relax too. Yu sighed and stood up, stretching with a slight groan,
"We are never doing that again."
"Mkay." Mania then looked at the house. "Mon and Dai are probably returning in a bit. Wanna head back inside?"
"Sure. I need to lay down anyway." Yu sighed as he walked to the door. Before he could, though, he felt a pair of arms wrap around his torso. Confused, he looked down to see Mania hugging him happily,
"Thanks for spending time with me, Isä." She said. Yu blinked before very cautiously pushing Mania off of him,
"It's my pleasure, Mania."
