"Lilly, you're gonna be fine ok, your gonna be ok." I said as I cried. Lilly was pale now her skin a grayish color and a small hard lump in her stomach. It was almost time, she was slipping away and I couldn't do anything about it.
"My dearest friend, though I have only known you for hours I cannot stand what is to come. you must stay strong for me though," she coughed up spurts of blood "but just know," she groans and winces "you are NOT alone." she looked at James "look after her please."
The doctor waved us away saying he needed to do something, I didn't ask what I already knew... they were cutting off her life support. I scoot closer to James, I want to talk but all I can manage is a whimper. James doesn't, speak he just pulls me closer and hugs me. I rest my head on his shoulder, and he rests his chin on my head. We stay this way for awhile then the doctor comes in and tells us to say our goodbyes.
"Lilly... so this is goodbye then?"
"I guess so" she replies her skin turns paler by the second as all the life is drained from her, breath after breath, becomes shallower and shallower till it stops.
"Goodbye Lilly" I say as I cry over her dead body.
