I got chatting to a couple of guys in the cafeteria and ended up back in their room, drinking a couple of beers and playing FIFA on their Xbox. I'm not drunk as such, just a little merry and I say my goodbyes as I make my way back up to my room. It's pretty late again and I just know I've managed to miss Charlie again. I'm right. As I open the door, I hear him snoring lightly through the gap in his door. I quietly make my way to my room and collapse on the bed, too shattered to change.
I wake up the next day to silence. Either he's up and gone already or asleep still but there's no sound of anyone moving around. I grab some clean clothes and head for the shower, wondering what to do today and if I'll see Blondie. I wish I knew her name, although Blondie suits her somehow. I smile to myself as I think of her smile. She has a mischievous twinkle in her eyes when she does smile and I can't get that image out of my head.
I finish up in the shower and dry off before getting dressed and leaving the bathroom. I see a takeaway coffee on the side again along with a note.

Cheers for the cake. Here's another coffee!

I smile at the fact Charlie has put a cat after I'd signed mine with a turtle. I am puzzled as how we keep missing each other though. We've been sharing a room for a couple of days now and you'd think there would be an opportunity for our paths to cross.
I sip my coffee while deciding what to do today. It's Friday and classes start on Monday so I might drive back home to visit my mom and sister tomorrow. I'm not sure yet as I don't want my mom worrying I'm lonely or homesick or something because I'm not. I'm mainly a bit bored. I finish my drink, put the cup in the trash and decide to go and find the skate park I was told about yesterday. I grab my skateboard and head off.
I pass Blondie in the entrance to our building, heading back in. She's smiling at me again and I can't help but grin back. One day I'll actually find the courage to do more than that I hope.
"Hi" she says in that sing song accent of hers.
"Um, hi" I manage before my mouth clamps itself shut again. I smile again and head off.
