It's 3:25pm and Hamish and I need to pick the kids up from school. Hamish is going to take one car to pick up Rachel and I'm taking the other to pick up Holly and Michael.
"Mum just take me home now!" Michael cries. "What's wrong honey?" I ask leaning over and taking him in my arms across the car. "The boys were teasing me today please just take me home!" He says as he pulls out of my embrace and sits up against the window covering his face with his sleeves. "Hey Holly how was your day?" I ask her. "I never want to come to this school again!" She shouts bursting into tears and climbing into the backseat. I do hope Rachel had a better day than these two..

"Hi Rachy how was your first day?" I asked her excitedly as she was smiling so I could tell she was happy. "It was awesome mum I played with Luke!" She shouted happily. I am quite glad she's made a good friend.
We are all sat in the lounge room as I organised to have a discussion. "Okay, Michael. Spill."
"After you left we had PE straight up and we did Javelin and I didn't know what to do so I threw it and it almost hit someone in a group of boys that were standing around and everyone started picking on me all day and I think it was 'don't punch me or my face will bruise' that I said that gave the boys an idea that I am 'gay' and they told everyone and they all started teasing me about it all day!"
"Okay, Holly your turn."
"The girls don't like my favourite clip that I wore today and they were teasing me about it saying that it wasn't cool and that it was for babies then at lunch time a boy came up to me and told me my brother was gay and heaps of boys started teasing me saying my brother is gay."
"Okay well even if Michael is gay it doesn't matter because it's just a sexuality and everyone's is different. If you want I'll come into school tomorrow and have a chat with those kids if you point them out."
"Yes thank you mum. Should I still wear my favourite clip tomorrow?"
"Of course if you like it, it doesn't matter. Michael don't worry about the boys they're probably just jealous of your good looks." I say winking at him. He shrugs then walks upstairs to his bedroom. Hopefully tomorrow will be better as I will be speaking to the kids who are picking on my Michael and Holly.
*the next day*
"Cmon Michael and Holly get up!" I shout to them from the bottom of the stairs hoping that they would hear me. I then hear footsteps coming from up the stairs.
I finally approach Michael at the bottom of the stairs yawning and stretching his arms out above his head. "Morning mum." He mumbled during his second yawn. "Good morning Mike are you feeling up to school today?" I ask him. "Yeah of course I am." He says as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. I nod then hop quickly up the stairs to get Holly up. I walk over to her door and open it slowly..
"Mum I'm getting dressed!" She shouts closing the half opened door. "Okay come down for breakfast when you're done." I say through her bedroom door.

"Okay let's go!" I say walking out of the front door and over to the car with Holly and Michael trailing slowly behind me.
Once we're all in the car with our seat belts on I start up the car and set off down the road. I turned on the radio to break the silence and fortunately, 'girls just wanna have fun' was on so Michael leant over from the passenger seat and turned up the volume.
