"Gina can Rachel stay over tonight?" I heard my mum ask drowsily. "I have to uh.. Do some things tonight." She said slurring her words. "Yeah of course is everything alright?" Gina then asked. "Yes I'm fine." Mum said before closing the door and walking away. Luke and I were at the top of the stairs watching and we could tell my mum was drunk.
"Rach you're having a sleepover tonight!" Gina shouted as Luke and I ran down the stairs hand-in-hand. "Thank you!" I said embracing her in a massive hug. I honestly didn't want to stay at home. Then there was a knock on the door. Gina opened it and Holly stood there with one of my overnight bags in her hands. "Here's Rachel's stuff." She said smiling as she handed it to Gina. "Here sweetie." Gina said as she passed it over to me. I then headed upstairs to Lukes bedroom to put my bag down and see what she packed. By my luck, she packed my extra small summer pjs and for tomorrow there's a hoodie. Ugh. I didn't necessarily want my bum hanging out of the bottom of my shorts while I was sleep so I asked Luke if I could borrow some pants. "Hey Luuukkee?" I said holding the 'U' "yeaaaahhhh?" He answered holding the 'a'. "Can I borrow some pants?" I asked as I felt my cheeks growing red. "Yeah haha what's wrong with the ones you've got?" He asked. I held them up to my waist to show him how small they were. "Uh okay I'll see what I can find." He said rummaging through his draws as I took the shorts I was wearing off. "These should do." He said passing me a pair of grey joggers. "Thanks." I said quickly slipping them up my legs. Then I chucked on my vans hoodie seeming as it was almost dinner time. "Wanna go for a walk?" Luke asked. "Really? I just got changed into 'comfortable' clothes." I whined. "Hahah okay well what can we do here?" He asked laughing to himself. "Ahh umm.. We could watch a movie?" I suggest. "Yeah okay I choose It." He says with a cheeky smile growing on his face. "But that ones scary." I said pouting my lip. He shrugged his shoulders and went over to the dvd cupboard and pulled out It. "How's your neck?" He asked while putting the disc into the TV. "Yeah it's okay it doesn't really hurt unless I move." I explain. He then ran out of the room.
"Luke what're you doing?" I shout as he disappears down the stairs. Ugh I wonder what the hell he's up to.
About 4 minutes later Luke walked back into the bedroom with a heap of pillows in his arms. "Woah, what're you doing?" I ask him as he chucks all of the pillows on top of me. "Getting us comfortable. Mum will bring the popcorn up for us in a sec." He says as Gina walks into the room with two bowls of popcorn in her hands. Luke takes them both out of her hands and passes one to me as Gina walks back downstairs. "You don't have to do this Luke." I said as he moved the pillows on the bed around so we'd be more comfortable. He then grabbed the remote and pressed play, before placing on his bedside table then sitting up closer to me on the bed. "Are you comfortable?" He whispers to me. "I'm in a neck brace so.. Not really." I say. "I'll take it off but you have to promise not to move your neck too much." He explains while making me sit up. "I promise." I say as I flinch because he is taking the neck brace off.
