Many hours after Jin went to do his duties, Yoongi was still in the cave. However, his peace was interrupted by another approaching his abode. Yoongi hadn't expected his next visitor to be someone other than Jin. In fact, he hadn't expected any visitors besides Jin. But a male the same height as Jin and with arms that rivaled even Jungkook's came. Yoongi knit his brows together, and that was when he recognized the farmer. Kim Taehyung, the one who sat in silence with him. The one who didn't judge him for being broken.

"Surprised to see me?" Taehyung asked, extending his hands as if giving an ounce of style to his entrance.

"Maybe. Why'd you come? Don't you know a monster lives in here?"

Taehyung scanned him up and down, then raised a brow. "I'm not intimidated. Should I be?"

"I was the king of your new home. My fighting skills are better than you think."

Taehyung smirked, then came and sat next to Yoongi without asking permission. It brought his mind to a halt, and he raised a brow, peeking over at the man. The little rays of light coming inside showed off the honey hue of Tae's skin. He kept his eyes ahead and didn't so much as glance at Yoongi. Yoongi played with the sleeves of his cloak and let his head lower, the sun seeming to lower with him.

"Something on your mind?" Tae asked, and Yoongi stiffened from the question for a reason he couldn't identify. His nerves were spiking with his heartbeat, his eyes fluttering between Tae and the landscape before him. The waterfall was blaring, the noise of it overwhelming.

"For the first time in a while, no." The water drowned out the sounds inside Yoongi's brain, washing over them until they flooded out his ears so he could focus on the man next to him. Taehyung made him feel like he was safe. Jin was a wonderful man who did far too much for Yoongi, and it pained him to admit how he was warming up to the prince, but Tae had a different presence. A soft kind. A kind that made Yoongi feel like he could let his guard down.

For the first time in a long time, Yoongi was in the present. Instead of his memories plaguing him, or the uncertainty of his future bogging him down, he felt the ease radiating off Taehyung and into himself. And that only amplified when Taehyung scooted himself a bit closer, his boxy smile coming out.

"Did I make you speechless? Jungkook says I'm good at that." His dumb, boxy grin brought Yoongi's gummy smile out, and he almost laughed. Almost. "Uh oh, are you feeling alright? Why am I honored enough to see Min Yoongi's smile?"

Yoongi swiveled his head and locked eyes with the boy, keeping his expression planted on his face. "I don't know, Tae." The nickname flew by his tongue before he could process it, and he had to swallow the bitter taste in his mouth that was left after he said it. But Taehyung only leaned his head closer, and the bitterness subsided in favor of a sweet sensation that exploded throughout his body. His mouth overflowed with it, and eventually, he found himself talking about things he hadn't said in what felt like decades. "Have you ever been in love?"

"Not really. I almost dated Hoseok once."

"The commander of your knights?" Yoongi asked, quirking up a brow.

"Yeah, believe it or not. This was a while ago, back when we were teens. We snuck out at night and used to play in the royal garden. That was how the king noticed Hoseok, actually. We got caught one time, and Hoseok stood in front of me and took all the blame. Even back then, he was the most noble man around. The king liked that about him. Hoseok was always the special one in our friend group. He treated us well. Sometimes I wonder if I could ever repay him."

Yoongi kept his eyebrows in their current position, resisting the urge to come closer. "What do you mean?"

Taehyung let out a short breath that hitched by his parted lips, his eyes almost shutting. "Hoseok took the blame for everything. Always."
