No sun woke up Camille that day for it only shone a few days in the year where her solemn school laid. No birds chirped as the curly-haired girl dragged herself out of bed, put on her rigid uniform, or went to breakfast. Her eyes blinked one at a time as she ran a brush through her dark brown hair and adjusted her tie in the mirror. She grabbed her bookbag and stumbled over to the school's cafeteria to see the only other kindred souls there, the Quagmire siblings.

"Hello there Cami, looks like you slept well," the Quagmire boy teased.

"Please Duncan I've only just gotten up no need to tease me about how decrepit I look," the girl responded in her raspy voice, running her fingers through her drying hair.

"Well I for one think Camille looks wonderful, as usual," Isadora commented, smiling at the tired girl. If the two Quagmires knew anything, it was that Camille was most definitely not a morning person.

"Such a flatter, as usual Iz," Camille said, smiling lightly back. She turned to the school's breakfast, a mushy oatmeal that looked as if it had just come out of a bird's mouth. "Do you think this is legally edible?" the Lycra girl asked to no one in particular, squinting at the unappetising meal.

"I'm not sure," Duncan replied. He swirled the food around in his bowl somehow summoning the unpleasant presence of Carmelita Spatz.

A/N: I hope you're enjoying the story thus far. I have yet to re-watch the Austere Academy episodes on Netflix so I haven't had the chance to write when Camille meets the Baudelaires but I can tell you that it'll happen very soon. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
