Friday 7th of September,
The agony of a pregnant woman could be heard throughout the castle. The halls echoed her voice making all that passed by informed of the events that were taking place in the room.
No-one in the castle was ignorant of what was taking place. What those trembling sounds meant.
An heir was to be born.
"Push you Majesty, You can do it." The doctor coursed the lying pregame woman and tried to give her words of encouragement.
"Whatever happens today. This child must see the light of the sun." The Queen screamed with determination. Her face covered in hot sweat and there was blood, so much blood around her.
The doctors always said that the Queen was undernourished and prone to fall ill easily. So the probability of her giving birth to this child was very slim.
"As long as the goddess of fertility lives on. This child must too." The Queen screamed once more as the doctors and nurses helped her. The Queens ear numbing scream caused a wave of ice wind to blow throughout the palace walls. Leaving everyone within the castle still as to what it meant.
Seconds turned in minutes as they waited patiently.
"The Queen has delivered our future ruler." A royal messenger proclaimed from the top of the palace tower into a horn. Loud enough for all to hear.
The people wasted no time and erupted with cheers. All royals from their respective kingdoms that came did not hesitate to tell their own messengers to send word of the blessed news.
From every corner of the castle walls to the bustling city. The news travelled as fast as the wind blew. Everyone who was anyone heard of the news and all responded with joy.
The roads were sprayed with winter lilies and the streets decorated with flowers signifying long life and prosperity. Drinks were toasted, food were in surplus quantities and shared greatly. Sacrifices were offered to the gods for the gift of life. The city saw no rest as it was a day to celebrate.
But in the confides of a bloody room, there was another form of unrest.
"What is the meaning of this?" A man with a presence that could rival all the great kings that came before him questioned impatiently.
"My King, quiet please. She is asleep." The woman on the bed, though exhausted and disheveled looked divine and at peace as she cuddled the little newborn baby in her arms.
"I would ask again. Who's child is that?" The King asked.
"My King. What do you take me for? Some harlot who would give myself to another man? - This child was soared from the union of the both of us, gifted to us by the gods, a child I carried in my womb for nine months and prayed to Aria so as this child may see the light of day." The Queen fired back at the King. She was exhausted, tired and didn't have the energy to argue over such unreasonable matters.
"Y-yes, your Majesty. It is true. We have tested her blood and everything. It is yours." The doctor starmarred as he told the King of the tests he carried out on the Queen's blood, even before she had the baby. With the use of some magic. They were able to determine the blood and gender of the baby but noithing could prepare them for the different outcome of events.
"My King. Do you question the works of our god?" The Queen questioned the King. Knowing very well he couldn't say anything. He just huffed and left the room.
"Don't worry my child. Edema. You are going to grow to become a strong and powerful ruler. That is my prayer for you." The Queen kissed the baby as the child stared into here eyes with her black, depthless pupils.
