CHAPTER 6: Present State

In a poorly lighted room, where the walls were covered in old bricks and decorated with expensive artifacts.

There in all her glory stood our banished princess Edena. She looked out of the big glass windows,which happened to be the only source of light in the room.

She spotted a familiar little black haired girl. Not more than 7 years old. Playing with the dried fallen leaves on the ground.

A smile encrusted on Edena's face as memories started flooding in.

       
   Edena's POV FLASHBACK
I had been walking for days now, trying to take shelter in nearby villages but all refused to render me any sort of help.

It seems like that the news of my banishment had spread faster than wild fire.

So when I got to distant forest I camped and took refuge there,eating whatever I could find and taking shelter in the trees.

Even though I knew almost nothing about surviving in the woods,I knew sleeping in trees wasn't the safest thing to do but I had no other choice. Right now I couldn't care about anything else other than my survival.

       Several months later

About 4 months had passed now but hey who's keeping track right.

I had become accustomed to my new life in the forest and learnt to ward of wild animals with my powers. It is actually easier to kill an animal when you have dark fare magic like mine.

During one of my morning walks. I was headed towards the stream where I usually had my bath.

That's when a huge tree fell in front of me, I was surprised at first and then decided to check it out.

To my surprise it had burnt marks on it. Before I could even process what was going on ,I heard the rustling of trees and sounds of men shouting.

I immediately took to my heels and ran away from there,seemed like the men noticed me and began chasing after me.

They were fast that's one thing for sure. I even tried blasting some trees to slow them down but they were so persistent.

I didn't know why they were chasing me but something told me it could be my father's men.

I guess he finally decided to finish me off.

I was almost out of breath when I spotted a large honey tree,that had a hole big enough to fit a person.

I squeezed myself inside into it and prayed for the guards not to spot me, luckily they didn't.

I heard a lot of shouting,magic blasts and trees falling but I didn't bulge. After what felt like an eternity there I came out cautiously and tried to make my way back to my camp, that's even if it stilled remain intact.

After almost an hour of walking ,I meet a scene that made me to shriek .
The beautiful green lush scene that had been planted in my head was now replaced by pure horror.

There was fire everywhere,all the vegetation destroyed,dead men scattered everywhere with blood sprayed all over the place.

I couldn't move, couldn't speak. The place I called home was turned into a battle ground unfit for anyone to live in.

Suddenly I heard the voice of a man calling out to me. I was more than petrified ,I awaited my death as the same on this field.

As if noticing my behavior he called out to me again to face him . I did slowing and was meet with the most handsome man I had ever laid my eyes on.

He had dark fair skin,brown shaggy hair and caramel chocolate eyes. He also was dressed in a sort of soldier uniform but not like the ones the guards at the palace wore.

He immediately snapped me out my daze and looked at me in a worried manner and started questioning what I was doing here and if u was hurt.

When he saw he wasn't getting any response from me,he offered for me to follow him . I don't know what made me follow him but I just trusted him also I couldn't stay in the forest anymore considering it's present state.

It would have been longer but I had to split it into two parts. Hmmm following a mysterious man you know nothing about . Was it really the best thing to do ?
