7 Years Later

A wonderful event was about to take place. The kingdom was in a frenzy and in a good way. The excitement could be felt in the air. The birds were even in on the celebration.

It was snowing and at the same time, the sun sat high in the clouds giving such a golden hour effect thereby illuminating all the land.

From a room high on one of the palace's towers stood the renowned princess Edena. The reason for all the celebrations that was going on just below her bedroom in the ballroom.

But while the rest of the popular was filled with glee and excited. A different emotion runned through Edena's veins. Fear. Why, you may ask? She could not provide the answer herself. Edena barely experienced emotions like this. She has grown up building up her confidence, laying the foundation and cementing it with self assurance. Now was not the time for pesky emotions to get the better of her.

"There shall be no mishaps." The words her father pounded into her mind crossed her mind occasionally.

"That's right. I can do this " Edena said to herself reassuringly as she gazed upon the dozens of carriages entering the palace gates. Noble men, women, merchants, business men, royals of other dignified kingdoms, mages and even some commoners who were lucky stepped out of their beautiful carriages.

All gathered here for a purpose. To celebrate and to jugde.

Before the princesses mind could wander any further, a knock resonated from the door.

"Big sister? What's taking you so long?" The voice of a bored preteen asked.

"Well Orla. I needed to make sure I'm looking as good as possible. Today's a very big day." Edena told Orla as she departed from the window.

"I know. Father wouldn't stop talking about it for the past how many dinners. It was so draining. I'm sure even the fried chicken was about to cry from all the blabbering."

"Sometimes I wonder what will happen if father hears you." Edena scolded her.

"What? No one's here. Unless..." Orla dragged. "You are going to report me to him?"

Edena laughed and Shaked her head. This girl was indeed going to be the death of her.

"Come on. Let's get going now before mother sends the whole knight squad to come looking for you." Edena beckoned to her sister so they could leave the room.

"You mean us." Orla stated.

Edena stopped, thinking to just ignore her little sister but decided to answer her.

"Yes."

                                * * * *
"Come on, come on. Hurry!" Princess Orla exclaimed as she ran up and down.

"Calm yourself for once. It's not like the ball can start without us " Edena said obviously.

"I know but I can't help it. I'm so excited." Orla squealed.

"Someone would think the ball was in your honour with the way you are acting so hyperactive."
