Chapter 15 - Truth Be Told

***Let the chapter begin!***

-Kaika's P.O.V. -

I watch Sebastian as he stands in front of me lit up by the moonlight. How can I not help but fall for someone who just looks so... gorgeous. He looks up at the moon and then turns his attention back to me.

Sebastian: "I think it's time you know the truth, but first I want to take you somewhere where we'll be alone for sure."

What does he mean... it's time I know the truth? He takes me by the hand and leads me over to the ferris wheel. He types on its' control panel and then leads me to one of the baskets. He closes the door and after a few seconds as if timed perfectly, the ferris wheel starts. After going around once, the basket we're in stops at the top of the wheel.

Sebastain looks over at me: "They wanted to wait to tell you... Wait until you were older... until they thought you were ready..."

I look up at him confused: "What do you mean? And who's they?"

He takes a deep breath, and after a long pause he looks forward and speaks in a low tone: "The people who developed and created us... the people of that company."

I'm still confused by what he says... I just don't get it. How do the people of the company know anything about me? I didn't know about them until a few weeks ago. And if they were waiting until I was older... just how long have they known me?

- Third Person P.O.V. -

Kaika furrows her brow: "Sebastian... what exactly is going on?"

Sebastian: "I know you must've wondered why we were sent to you, of all people, you thought it seemed like more than a coincidence, and you're right. There was a reason we were sent to you..." He pauses.

Kaika uses this pause to speak: "I haven't thought about it in awhile, but, I have thought about that. Don't take this the wrong way, but if you know the reason... why were you sent to me?"

Sebastian nods: "I'll tell you... but first you have to go farther back, get deeper into the truth."

Kaika looks at him confused again: "What do you mean get deeper?"

Sebastian: "I mean there's more to it... to us... to the company."

Kaika: "You mean... you're not just a new product to help anime sales?"

Sebastian shakes his head: "No, that's just a cover up. Didn't we seem... a little too advanced to be some kind of toy?"

Kaika nods slowly: "Well... now that you mention it..."

Sebastian: "We're really called A.H.W. which stand fo-"

- Sebastian's P.O.V. -

I stop mid-sentence as a robotic voice tunes in inside my head out of nowhere and interupts my thoughts.

???: "Beta2, I command you to stop speaking now. You have already said too much for your own good and now you are about to commit a felony. If you do not take the orders given to you, you will be deactivated immediately."

After finishing its message, the voice suddenly cuts off and just like that it was gone. I sit there both staring forward showing no emotion and speechless contemplating what I should do now.

I want to tell Kaika... To tell her the truth... But if I did that... I'd lose her... forever.... I know I would never see another day with her, never spend another moonlit night by her side... They'd surely shut me down... and turn me into a pile in the junkyard...

Kaika speaks in a soft voice, snapping me out of my thoughts: "Sebastian...?"

I look over at her and she's looking up at me with big beautiful eyes. I can tell by the sound of her voice and the way she's looking at me now that she is worried. How long have I been sitting here without saying anything?

- Third Person P.O.V. -

Kaika looks concerned: "Are you alright?"

Sebastian's heart can't help but melt at he watches Kaika's eyes twinkle underneath the night sky, and in this moment his worries just disappear. He gives Kaika a gentle smile and his eyes turn soft as he runs his fingers through her hair.

Sebastian: "I'm alright, let's just enjoy this time we have together."

Kaika nods unsurely but drops the subject: "O-kay..."

- A Few Hours Later -

After awhile, everyone meets back up with one another.

Jushiro whines seeing Sebastian and Kaika holding hands: "This is why I didn't want to leave her alone with them," he looks towards Rin and Emiko, "I knew they'd plot something."

Rin puts his hands up defensively: "Hey we didn't force them or anything, we just gave them... a little push."

Rin smiles playfully and Jushiro continues to whine and complain which then turns into the two arguing. They all start heading home, Mori dragging Rin and Jushiro behind himself.

When they reach home, Emiko kisses Rin goodbye and then heads inside her house as the rest enter theirs. Rin, Jushiro, and Mori all head off to bed, and after giving Kaika a goodnight kiss on the forehead, Sebastian heads to the study. Kaika lays in her bed staring at the ceiling recalling everything that has happened this evening. She thinks to herself: I wonder what Sebastian had to say... He didn't seem like he was finished... And for a little bit he seemed... distracted and as if his mind was somewhere else... Kaika ponders for a bit before shrugging it off and falling asleep.

Three year old Kaika runs around laughing and playing with a huge smile on her face. "Mommy! Mommy! Watch me beat Daddy in a race!" She yells excitedly waving to a woman with bright blue eyes and black hair sitting under a large sakura tree that stands by itself at the edge of the park as she's being chased by a man with dark brown hair and green eyes. Her mother laughs and waves back. Kaika then trips hitting the ground with a 'thud'. She stays strong and doesn't cry but when she picks herself up and turns to show her parents she's okay she notices she's all alone.

Kaika speaks shakily: "M-Mommy? D-Daddy? W-Where did you go...?"

She looks around but they are no where in sight, and the once colorful sakura tree is now dark and barren, and the park that was filled with joy and laughter just moments before is eerily quiet. Her lip quivers and tears start to well up in her eyes. "M-mommy.... Daddy...."

Kaika wakes up early the next morning, tears slowly streaming down her face as she remembers the dream she was having moments before. Why are these dreams coming back... I thought.. I thought they had stopped...

Kaika decides to get out of bed and go to the study to talk to Sebastian so he can comfort her. As she stands up a letter falls to the floor by her feet. She bends down to pick it up and on the envelop it reads her name handwritten in old script styled font.
