Chapter 17 - Mission Infiltrate

Kaika, Emiko, Rin, Jushiro, and Mori all race towards the A.C.T.L building as Kaika gives Emiko a short version of what happend, leaving out the details of what Sebastian had written in the letter.

Once Kaika is finished Emiko looks at her and smiles: "Well I'm glad to see you coming out of your shell to fight for something you want."

As the five of them approach the building, they hide in some shrubbery and nearby trees where they can't be seen but can spy on the building.

Kaika starts to look a bit nervous like usual: "So how do we uh.. get in without, you know, being noticed?"

Mori puts one hand on Rin's head and the other on Jushiro's: "First I'll have to take care of something."

Jushiro and Rin both look at him uterly confused: "What're are you doing??"

Mori speaks in a low tone: "Keep your voice down and it'll be quick and painless, don't worry."

Jushiro gives him a worried look: "What will be?"

Mori mumbles annoyed: "I've already done this to myself just sit still and please be quiet."

Mori closes his eyes as a blue electricty eliminates from his fingertips to Rin and Jushiro's heads, both their eyes flash blue and in seconds they return to normal as Mori brings his hands down.

Kaika raises an eyebrow at the interaction: "Mori... what did you just do to them?"

Jushiro rubs his head trying to figure it out himself: "Oh I see now."

Emiko looks confused as well: "See what?"

Rin explains: "When the company created us, they also programmed something in our minds so that they would be able to tune into our video and audio feedback. In other words, spy on us and be able to see and hear what we do. They were also able to transmit a message inside our brains when they wanted to, one that only the person receivig it would hear inside their head."

Kaika and Emiko nod: "Okay, so what does that have to do with what Mori did?"

Rin continues: "Well I'm not exactly sure how, but Mori destroyed the parts of the programming that would allow them to tap into our brain, this way they can't see, hear, or track us."

Jushiro chimes in: "Basically he's put us into stealth mode."

Kaika looks a bit worried: "But can't they just shut you down since you're not responding?"

Mori shakes his head: "Why do you think they have brought Sebastian here?"

Kaika gives him a blank stare unsure of the reason.

Rin finishes: "In order for us to be deactivated and shut down, they have to bring us in and do it manually. So as long as they can't command us to come to the building and restrain ourselves, they can't get their hands on us." He gives a witty smirk.

Kaika looks at him unsure: "No offense... but if they got Sebastian what makes you so sure?"

"Its simple, it is because they got to him before Mori could destroy the company's transmitter in his brain." Rin explains.

Kaika nods: "Now I get it."

Emiko smiles: "Gotta love a smart man."
