The masked girl watch as Vi gives her younger sister the bunny stuffed toy. As soon as Vi stands up so did Raven, but Vi only ignored her and leaving the basement.
Raven couldn't careless, she was used to Vi leaving whenever she's angry or what not, but the feeling was different today. Powder stands up from her bed, feeling sad as she walks up to Raven and grabs her hand. "Let's go up." Begged the young girl as Raven nods.
When they reached the counter, Raven helped Powder take a seat at the high chairs and Vander pours them both a drink as he drops a metal straw at Powder's.
As Powder was about to drink, the old man noticed the bunny toy on the counter and sighed. "Raven come with me to Benzo's."
Vander pats Powder's head as he lift the bar flap, his motions lingering with sad and grief, he knew what Vi was about to do and Raven can feel it. It was heartbreaking to see.
When the two of them left the last drop, they went towards Benzo's old shop where the old man knocked at Benzo came out as he nods at the two of them.
Looks like he knew what Vi is also up to.
"You okay Lil fella?" Benzo asked Raven who was spaced out, unlike her usual self she was thinking about what could happen in the future. Truth be told, she was afraid, mad afraid.
"Yeah." Raven shortly answered as they walk towards what seemed to be a dead end.
And there she was, Vi. She was looking down but then looked up when Vander's shadow covered her. "Vander?" She ask almost crying.
The adoptive father sighs, "We don't have much time."
"How did you find me?" Vi ask again.
Vander looks at Raven then to Vi. The masked girl watched as Vander nears Vi's face, "I'm proud of you. Always have been."
"I'm sorry, I... This is the only way to protect the others." Vi tries to reason out.
"You've got a good heart. Don't ever lose it." Vander stopped.
"Vander..." Vi's voice shakes.
"No matter how the world tries to break you— Protect the family." He continued before signaling Raven to open the door beside them and she did.
"What are you—" Vander pushes Vi inside followed by Raven as he locked it immediately.
"NO!" Both Vi and Raven screams. Then the banging starts.
Raven panics as she try to find an exit, or a rock even to throw at the glass window a couple of feet above them but the room was dusty yet clean.
"Let us out! This isn't right!" Vi cried as she continued banging onto the door while Raven only stayed quiet, afraid to move. She regrets meddling into someone's business.
Footsteps and clanking was heard and a low voice was heard, "I'm guessing that's for me?" The masked girl already knew who it was as soon as she heard the voice, it was Grayson, the sheriff.
A sigh soon followed but it was muffled. "You gonna let us make the arrest or not?" Marcus.
"You'll oblige a doomed man one last smoke— Won't you?" When those words escaped Vander's mouth, Vi broke down and continued banging onto the door, repeating the names of her adoptive father.
"I'm not putting you away Vander." Said Grayson.
Raven noticed the green tinted window and decided to come close to it, to at least listen to what the adults were talking about.
