It had been an eventful first day back at Hawkins high school. I got word that my baby brother was missing. I could do nothing but wait. If mom knew I was back I'm pretty sure it would kill her.
See I went off with dad, but dad decided I was too much, so ran back, but Hopper found me before I could find mom.
I quietly slipped through the halls unnoticed. If Jonathan saw me I'm sure he'd tell mom.
I bumped into someone. I looked up at the bleach blonde hair. "Sorry" I stuttered "it's fine" the boy said helping me up.
"Billy, Billy Hargrove" he smiled. "Louisianna but everyone calls me Lou" I offered only my first name. "Got a last name darling" he asked. I looked passed him and my eyes fell to Jonathan. Billy must have seen the look and turned slightly. "The byers kid a problem for you?" He asked. You shook your head. "Hes my brother" you sighed as Jonathan walked over. Billy for some reason didn't leave my side.
"When did you get back?" Jonathan asked. "A week ago" I replied. "Where you staying since it's obvious you haven't told mom" he said. "Hopper offered me his trailer, I was gonna come then I heard about Will" I said sadly as Billy grabbed my hand. "Come over tonight, you could be just the thing she needs to gain her sanity okay" Jonathan said patting my shoulder I nodded as he walked away.
"Welp, I was looking for a reason to ditch, let's go sweetheart" Billy said hand still intertwined with mine. I didn't protest, but maybe I should have.
His shiny blue Camero.
He opened up my door and shut it behind me. He got in and lit a cigarette. He peeled out of the parking lot and drove in a different direction then home. "Where are we going?" I asked the strange boy Softly. "My house" he replied pulling into a driveway. I knew where we were. "You live next to Harrington" I questioned and he nodded. "Good ol king Steve" he smiled. Again he opened my door and gently pulled me up to his porch. He called for someone once in the door but recieved no answer. He guided me up the stairs to a room that was too clean to be a teenage boys room.He grabbed my bag and sat it in the corner. "Now, normally other activities take place here but I think you'd rather just breathe" Billy said. And I nodded. He left to grab a drink.
"So are you sleeping with the cheif?"
I jumped slightly as my back was to the door.
"I'm not sleeping with anyone" I said. He seemed to accept that answer.
Time slowed as he stepped closer. "So, how come you don't live with your brother?" He asked sitting us on his bed."After the divorce they decided they'd let the kids pick, will and Jon chose mom and I needed a break from Hawkins after" i stopped wishing the memory away. "I just wanted a change, and it was fine until dad remarried and had a couple new kids, so I found my way back" I said. Billy lit a cigarette.
"Something bad happened to you didn't it doll?" Billy asked and our eyes met. "Yeah you could say that" I sighed.
Look, I'd better get you wherever you need to go, I'd rather you not meet my old man" Billy sighed. Billy drove me to the park near the Byers home."I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked him. He smiled. "Of course" he replied. He got back in his car and drove away.
