Going to school the next day like the weekend hadn't happened had become our normal. Passing glances but no words spoken. Steve ignored me and stayed with Nancy, Tommy and Carol.  I found myself at the Hellfire club table picking at my nailpolish.  "Hey lou" Mike said getting

"Yeah?" I replied.  "What's gonna happen to will?" He asked.  "Hes gonna be okay" I reassured him. Mike left with Dustin and Lucas.

"Keeping it together for the kids huh" Eddie said writing his campaign. "Someone has too" I mumbled. Eddie put his pen down. "You don't have to take on everything alone Lou" he said.  "You're starting to sound like Hopper" I said. Eddie chuckled  "please don't compare me to a cop babe" he said and I smiled. "Now, how's about lunch?" He asked and I nodded.

We passed by Billy who's face was adorned with fresh bruises and dried blood on his lip. "I'll be right back" I told Eddie and followed Billy getting his attention.

"You went back" I said. "Had to, he, he got out and went after Max" he said seething. "Oh Billy" I sighed.   "Take Max and go stay with Joyce, you'll be safe their" I said. And he looked at me.  "Promise me something, if anything were to happen to me, take care of Max" he said and I looked at him. "Her mom won't do shit to protect her, I'm begging you please take care of her" he said and a tear rolled down his face.

"I will, I'll take her I promise" I said. He wiped his face and walked out the door. I composed my self and walked into the lunchroom.

"Well if it isn't the freak queen" Tommy yelled. Steve smacked him. "Oh don't tell me you're defending her, she's shaking up with the freak and hooking up with Hargrove" Tommy spat.  I ignored them and sat beside Eddie.  "They do not get to talk about you" he said standing up.  "Hey Tommy! You talk a big game for someone who's sleeping with 3 of the cheerleaders behind Carol's back, or did you forget I hang out in the woods too" Eddie said and the room fell silent.

Carol ran out with Tommy following her. Steve stayed seated. "Anything to add Harrington" Eddie asked and he shook his head and ran out after his friends.

The hellfire table clapped as Eddie returned to his seat and kissed my forehead.. "Can we talk later" I asked Eddie quietly and he nodded.

I left the room and went to my next class. "Lou" Steve said sitting beside me. "Please you can't shut me out" he said. "Why you shut me out all the time" I said. He sighed. "Nancy and I broke up, she's seeing jonathan" he said. I looked at him. "I'm sorry" I said. "Harrington" Eddie greeted and Steve moved.  "I'll call you later" I told Steve and he nodded and took his seat. Eddie looked at me and raised his brow. "Nancy broke up with him" I said.  Eddie didn't say anything.

End of the day and Eddie went off to Hellfire and I went home to check on Will.

I walked in and was stepping on papers. "What is all this" I questioned outloud. "Hes getting this visions" Joyce said pacing. "Looks like vines" I said and she nodded.

Will didn't say a word, just kept scribbling. "I'll gather the kids after Hellfire and we'll figure this out" I told my mom and left. I walked to the cabin.

"Jesus christ!" Billy yelled holding my bat. "Its okay" I assured him and he put the bat down.  "Max is at Hellfire and I just wanted quiet" he said and I nodded. He looked at me.  "You look exhausted" he said.  "I just don't wanna do this again billy" I said "then dont" he said. "No one said you have too, I get he's your brother, but, how can you help if it's hurting you this bad" Billy said and I said down.

"Eddie said the same thing" I sniffled. "Hopper top, but I feel like I'm letting them down" I sighed.  "You aren't, but I'm telling you Lou, you can't help if you break" he said. I nodded. "I've got my shift at the pool talk later?" He asked and I nodded. He left and I cried in the shower. I decided to lay down. The cabin was quiet and eased my mind.

I heard the door open and figured it was Hopper.  That was until I felt arms wrap around me.  "Feeling any better?" Eddie asked and I nodded. "Billy said you might need company" he said and I sat up "Let's go somewhere i sent the kids to joyces" Eddie said. I didn't fuss and just got in the van. He drove to a clearing near lovers lake.  I explained what Billy and I had talked about. "Hes right, you take on so much, I don't see Harrington helping this much" he said 

"Because Steve doesn't remember"
