Our family is here. They want to meet you.

They were here. They were here! Oh god. Please give me some strength. From all the names I remember, they are a lot of people. A very big family. Not that I'm complaining. More people, more fun.

My gaze turned right towards the gate for a millisecond before turning to Jake in a splash. I rubbed my hands slightly on the couch, wincing when more pressure got applied on the right hand. Ouch. I completely forgot about it.

My hands were sweaty, my breathing started getting rapid. Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, all male cousins, what am I supposed to do? I don't know anyone here, they hardly know me, I hardly know them. Are they sure they want me to meet their family? After everything that happened right now, was it even my fault? I didn't even knew Emily was going somewhere today, why was I the one who got hit?

Some movement from my left caught my attention, making me snap out of my gaze and turn towards Jake. He had an ice pack on his his hand, he got a bruise too. Bigger than what I got on my hand.

Selfish.

It was so selfish. So so selfish of me. Here I am, just thinking about myself, when my own brother is in more pain. Why am I like this? Why can't I ever think about someone else before me?

Jake nudged me, making me turn my gaze to him, " yeah?"

"What's got you so sad?"

"Sad? Who's sad?"

"You idiot, who else?"

"I am not sad." I started, "I am just a little anxious, for meeting them."

"Don't be. They are going to love you-" Jake stopped mid sentence when we both heard heavy footsteps, towards the living room.

My eyes slightly widened, hearing the footsteps coming near to us, by each passing second.

I wish what Jake said would be true. I hope they like me atleast.

A women entered the room, she looked in her mid sixties, following her came a man, almost as the same age of her.

Were they my grandparents?

I and Jake stood up, and kept staring at them.

"Yes." Jake mumbled, loud enough for me to hear, "they are our grandparents." Jake seemed happy, he was smiling.

My gaze turned to the couple. My eyes met her, and she froze. She kept standing there and so did her husband, both of then were staring at me. Suddenly a huge smile broke out on her face, but she didn't move. She kept staring at me, with such soft expressions that for a moment, I didn't knew how to feel. She was staring at me as if she was staring at the most valuable thing she has ever seen.

My gaze slightly turned towards her right and this time it was my turn to freeze. I froze under the intense gaze of their grandfather. He didn't has any expression on his face. I remember the day I met my father and brother's, that day I thought Alex's face was the most emotionless, but god was I wrong. What had I even done? Why was he staring at me like that? He was staring at me as if I was nothing in front of him. What if he hates me? I think he already does. I wanted to go in my room and cry.

Grandfather was a tall and well built man, with over 6 feet height, as tall as all my brothers were. Grandmother, on the other hand, wasn't short either. With her height almost 5'9, she was taller than me. Was it wrong to say that grandfather was handsome, and so was grandmother, she was beautiful.
