Descending the stairs in a hurry, with my left hand on the bannister, I turned towards the living room. Entering inside, I spotted dad sitting alone on the huge couch. With his fingers interlinked and both his elbows on his knees, he looked deep in thought.
Five steps inside the living room and he turned towards me in a splash, a small smile made its way on his lips as he stood up.
"Come on."
Taking a few steps towards him, something happened as the next moment I found my vision black, as my right hand fisted some soft fabric. I felt a pair of hands around me, one hand on my shoulder while the other on my lower back.
Both the arms disappeared, and the next moment I found myself being lifted off and gently placed on the floor. I opened my eyes and stared at Dad's chest, before moving my gaze upwards, Did I just fly? How did I land myself on dad's chest then?
He was staring near my feet before he took a step back. I looked down, my eyes widened as I saw the untied laces of my sneakers. Geez, but they were tied before, right? What happened to them as I came downstairs? Stupid sneakers. Stupid laces.
Before I could bend down, and try to do something with them, I saw Dad on one knee, his gaze focused on my laces, as his fingers did the magic I couldn't learn for years. My face flushed, why was it so hard for me? What will he think of me now? A brainless girl who started living in his house? Wait- How does he know I am his daughter?
My gaze snapped towards Dad as he stood up, "Always tie your shoelaces before you leave your room." He spoke, his face not contradicting anything, but his eyes were stern, "What if you fell on the stairs? The result wouldn't have been good."
They were tied back there. Damn you, stupid laces.
"Sorry." I smiled sheepishly, "And Thank You."
With his right hand on the back of my head, he placed a soft kiss on my forehead, before nodding, "Just take care next time, alright?"
"Okay." Taking my left hand in his right one, he started walking towards the garage door.
As all the cars came into view, I stared at them in awe, how can cars be beautiful and so shiny?
"Be here." He walked inside the garage, the car keys in his hands, and soon he was out of my vision. Wait, how big is this garage? I haven't been properly inside it!
Before I could take a step forward, and look inside towards the direction he went, I heard a notification from my phone. Taking it out of my pocket, I unlocked it, rolling my eyes at the message from, 'Candy Crush Saga'. Well, turns out, my lives are full now and I can play the game anytime.
My head snapped upwards, just as I noticed a car stopping in front of me. I locked the phone and kept it in my jeans pocket when I saw Dad sitting in the driver's seat.
I took a small step forward, where was I supposed to sit? In the passenger seat or at the back? Well, it's not like I have known him my whole life- how can I sit in the passenger seat, right? Maybe sitting at the back would be better.
With my left hand on the doorknob, I opened the door, my head turned towards Dad as he looked behind at me, "No one is coming with us, sweetheart. You can sit here." He patted the passenger's seat
