'Well you are bae' Johnny said as I rolled down my window. He was dumb enough to leave his pads at home and since I just had cheer I had gone back to pick it up for him. 'Beth would never do this' He said as he reached into the back to get the bag out. 'It's no problem' I said and he smiled. 'So, what's this that I hear about you and Justin going on a date?' He asked as I thought back to yesterday.

'He asked me to come over and have dinner' I said. 'Yeah, the whole team is talking about it' He said and I raised an eyebrow. 'He told everyone?' I asked as I saw various players from the team tailgating the lot, a few passing back and forth. 'Not exactly' He said and I shrugged. 'Then how do they know?' I paused. 'I passed out when we got back last night, I told Andy on the boat that was it' I said. 'Well, Chan. Cat kind of went off on Twitter last night' He said and I narrowed my eyes at him.

'What'd she say?' I asked and he pulled his phone out. I waited a couple seconds as he pulled up what I assumed were her tweets. He handed me his phone and I bit my lip as I read her feelings about me. fucking bitch. been here a week and ur already pissing me off. enjoy the attention, it's not gonna last for long. 'Justin had a feeling it was about you, so he texted her this morning. Apparently she didn't say yes, but the whole been here a week thing kind of gave it away' He said.

'So how'd the date come up?' I asked him. 'Justin was telling us about how he talked to her because everyone saw the tweets. He said that the reason was probably because he asked you out, and now I am telling you' He said and I sighed as I handed him his phone back. 'I'm sorry Johnny, but she's too much for me' I said and he nodded. 'Well, can you handle Justin then?' He asked and I sighed.

'I know he's your friend and you know him way better than I do. And, I know that you warned me about him and everything. But, I wouldn't be dealing with Cat if I didn't have to' I said and he smirked. 'You like Justin don't you?' He asked and I bit my lip, leaning my forehead against my steering wheel. 'Yeah' I said and he smiled. 'He gets it from me if he hurts you' He said and and I pushed his shoulder gently. 'I got this, but I'll be careful' I said and he nodded. 'Thanks Chan' He said as he held his bag up and I nodded. 'Alright, good luck' I said before he left my car and went back to the other guys.

'So when was your ass gonna tell me?' Beth asked me. 'Bethany, language' Veronica said and I smirked. 'I assume this is about the date' I said, painting my left thumbnail white. 'Date, with who?' She asked. 'Justin' Beth said and she literally flipped. 'I have to call Pattie right no- 'Mom stop' I said, causing the two of them to look at me. Holy shit. 'You just said- look I don't expect you to keep saying it. It was probably just a slip of the tongue' She said and I sighed. I looked at Beth and she smiled. 'If it's okay with both of you, I'd like to call you mom. I mean, Veronica is kind of a mouthful' I said and she came around the island to give me a hug.

'Of course' She said and Beth clapped. 'That was beautiful, I shed a tear. But, get back to the date' She said, making me roll my eyes. 'I'm calling Pattie' She said and I laughed. 'What exactly are you gonna tell her mom?' Beth asked as I moved on to the next finger. 'Just a little mom gossip, this is exciting. Every mom wants their kids to date, or be friends. You know, because you trust their parenting and that the kid as good as they raised them to be' She said, making me look at Beth. Justin, good?

'Just let me have my fun' She continued and I laughed. 'What are you two doing?' Beth asked. 'Well, he said he wants me to come over to his house and said we'd make something together' I said, allowing them both to squeal. 'That is so cute. He wants to cook for you' My mom said. 'It is cute' I said. 'And his house is perfect. I mean if he really tries for this, he'll set dinner up in the back' Beth said. 'Oh the back of their house is beautiful' Mom agreed.

'You never know, maybe you'll meet the parents' Beth continued and I smirked. 'I actually already met Pattie' I said. 'You have?' Mom asked. 'Ran into her with Cat and Andy' I said. 'Well, Andrew, the dad, is hilarious' Beth said, making our mom nod. 'He doesn't even try, everything is just so funny' She added. 'What time is your date?' My mom asked. 'Date' Connor said as he entered the room with Johnny and our dad. 'Oh the date with Justin?' Johnny asked, grabbing a handful of trail mix from the bowl in front of Beth. 'Fuck off' Beth mumbled and he flicked her hair.
