Steve opened his eyes after what feels like a lifetime. He was still on the couch and everything was kind of of blurry to him. The sun light dimly lit the room that was pitch black after the movie had ended. Nancy and Robin were sleep at the other end of the couch, resting their heads on each other. Steve couldn't help but smile while looking at his friends on the couch they looked peaceful. On the other hand where did Eddie head off this morning?

Clumsily Steve got up off the couch and stumbled to the bathroom. He put some water on his face to wake himself up. The more he looked at his reflection the more his drained appearance started to show. He quickly dried his face and stepped out the bathroom. After doing so curiosity started to get the best of him, Eddie's bedroom door was wide open. All he was going to do is check to see if his friend was in there and that would be it.

Steve slowly entered the room and it was empty. Even though he got his answer he still wanted to explore the area that was very new to him. Heavy metal items decorated the room and different Knick knacks were placed in almost every corner of the room. Something stuck out to Steve and it was kind of shocking. Hanging on the wall were handcuffs. He wasn't really sure what to make of Eddie having something like that especially since there was never going to be a need for them.

"I should get out of here." Steve said to himself. The possibility that he could find something else in Eddie's room that would make him question everything was something he wanted to avoid. He exited the room and went into the living room where the two girls were still sleeping. No sign of Eddie still.

Steve grabbed his jacket that was laying on his end of the couch. Nervousness was starting to run through his body. The last time he seen Eddie was when he wasn't really in a happy mood and that made Steve think of the most unpleasant things that could happen.

Cool air hit Steve's face as soon as he stepped out of the trailer. The brightness of the sun became more apparent the further he walked onto the grassy surface below him. Steve scanned the area and there was no sign of Eddie still. So he walked in a direction that was closer to the woods. Luckily he didn't have to look too hard for, Eddie was sitting on top of a wooden picnic table while letting smoke escape his lips. Steve headed in that direction and was hoping he would get some answers for the sudden disappearance of the long haired guy in front of him. Steve didn't make his presence know to Eddie and that caused him to jump when he looked his way.

"Jeez dude, I thought you were a serial killer or something." Eddie joked before putting the joint in his mouth and inhaled the smoke, closing his eyes while doing so. Steve didn't realize he was staring at Eddie and he didn't know why. Seeing him smoke looked captivating especially since he never smoked himself, it was all new to him.

"You're staring Harrington." Eddie said in a playful tone. Steve snapped out of his thoughts and decided to take a seat beside Eddie on the picnic table. They sat in silence for a few seconds before Steve finally got the courage to speak.

"Is everything alright? You've been kind of distant ever since last night." Steve didn't hold back. He genuinely wanted to know what was going on in Eddie's mind and if it was about Vecna there was no need for him to feel like he couldn't talk about it. "Look, if it's about what happened with Vecna-"

"No no no that's not it." Eddie said with smoke coming out of his mouth. "I think it's actually a little worse than that Steve."

Steve didn't think that was possible. If whatever Eddie was going through wasn't about Vecna and it was worser than that. What could that be?

Not wanting to push the topic further Steve just dropped it. When Eddie was ready to talk about whatever he was going through, Steve would be all ears.

"So...you and Nancy?"

Now that wasn't a topic Steve wasn't so "all ears" about.

"Um- uh what are you talking about?" Steve stuttered through his sentence and he hated himself for it. Eddie let out a genuine laugh at the others visible blush.

"C'mon Steve, I might be high but I'm not blind. The whole staring thing on the couch and the hand holding? Yeah you guys were not very subtle last night." Eddie stated bitterly which would've been obvious to others but Steve didn't really pick up on it.

"I was only trying to calm her down that's all. She wasn't comfortable with watching a scary movie because of previous events." Steve responded honestly.

"Well she wasn't really invited anyways." Eddie mumbled under his breath in annoyance. Realistically he only invited Steve to hang out and do a "bros night". They never get to do it because Steve always wants Robin to come and then she wants to invite Nancy along. Steve heard the slick response and he started to become angry.

"What did you say?" Steve raised his voice and everything started to become red. Eddie shrugged. He wasn't scared of Steve and wasn't like they were going to fight over a simple conversation.

"I'm just saying that when I invite you over there's always a way for Robin and Nancy to appear all of a sudden."

Steve didn't understand why it was such a big deal that the girls came along. They honestly made it so much fun and everyone clicked so well with each other.

"Why does it matter if they're invited?" Steve asked. Eddie's face started to resemble the way it was last night. Almost sad and disappointed with a little bit of anger.

"Because Steve we've never just been," Eddie stopped himself from finishing his sentence. He inhaled an intense amount of smoke before speaking again. "You know what it don't really matter."

"Eddie I-"

"What are you guys doing out here?" A feminine voice spoke from behind them. They turned around to see Nancy standing there with her hand over her eyes to block out the brightness of the sun.

"Speak of the devil." Eddie said before hopping of the picnic table and brushing past Nancy without saying anything. Steve wanted to say something but Nancy stopped him before he could.

"Do you mind giving me a ride home Steve?" Nancy asked giving him a small smile. Steve nodded. And the two were off to his car.

He couldn't get the events that took place earlier out of his head though. Eddie was way out of line and there was no excuse for it. Steve pushed the thoughts at the back of his brain and focused on what was in front of him.

Nancy
