Every body return to their rooms, would have done that but I think hanging out with Marcus and willie would be more fun so that's what I did. Let me set the very basic scene for you. it's the usual set up, willie and Marcus in front of the tv playing video game while I'm laying on Marcus's bed. Honestly this was nice, two of my boys getting along again and me sitting around them doing nothing. Now was I doing nothing because I was sober and could make good decisions? no. I was here doing nothing because I was still drunk out of my fucking mind, guess the adrenaline from the revenge plan only got me sober for that time period. As soon as that adrenaline wore off, I was drunk as shit again. may not have helped that I was still drinking...

"Come on, man." I hear from my spot on the bed. "Guard your left. Your left!" willie yet again having to coach Marcus on his shitty gaming skills.

"Hey," Marcus started, not taking his eyes away from the screen. "What you did tonight, thanks for having my back."

"Yeah, about that "I said, rolling over on the bed and laying my head in my arms, staring right at willie. "What changed your mind?"

"I got to thinking on what you said earlier" willie began, also not tearing his eyes away from the screen. Referring to what Marcus said earlier.

"Which part? I say so many smart things." Marcus asked and stated. Voice not indicating whether that statement was serious or sarcasm. Meh, its wrong either way.

"HA!" I laugh out, rolling over to lay on my back. Willie dose a light exhale of a laugh through his nose while Marcus just shakes his head, still staring at the screen.

"About patriotism." Answers willie, "and y/n is right, it wasn't so smart." Willie quickly leaned back, arm out high, receiving a pretty firm high five from yours truly.

"Mm." Marcus started up again, "you two must of misunderstood it" even though I couldn't see him, it was obvious a smug ass look was on his stupidly handsome face.

"You said patriotism was about self-interest." Seriousness now flooded willie's voice. I rolled back onto my stomach, listening closely. "But back in watts, we had a different kind." I reach over to the side of the bed, bringing a bottle up to my lips. "The pride wasn't in the government, because they never earned no loyalty from us. It's about community."

"Preach it willie" I speak drunkenly. He continues, face still serious, but with a slight smile.

"It's about taking care of your people." Willie finishes, earning a nice woo from me. I look over at Marcus, his reflection showing a slight sorrow look as his head dips down. Oh, this is gonna play into his intense need to belong somewhere.

"You saying I'm your people?" he finally speaks. Looking towards willie, slight excitement now adorned his mug.

"Fuck yeah you are" I speak, getting up from my position, stumbling to the spot between Marcus and willie. Willie looks at me, smiling before turning to Marcus with a more serious face.

"Not if you can't guard your left." They both smiled before turning back to the tv. "Come on, Arguello, carry your weight, man." I shoulder nudge the scarred brunette next to me, a cheeky smile on my face as we make eye contact. God, I hope he's loving this, the closest thing he's had to a family in years. I fight back the urge to grab him and squeeze him like one would a child. What I do instead is quite simple, drink while watching two of my boys play video games. It was nice, it was calming, it felt like home.

"I love you guys; did you know that?" I slur out, taking another sip of my heavily percentage-ed alcoholic beverage. Marcus and willie turn to me, staring slightly.
