Jade felt and looked like a baddie. Jenna had only packed white outfits for her as the bride and it tickled her. They left Houston for San Antonio first thing in the morning. Jenna had her dressed in comfy chic loungewear that kept up with the theme of all white.
They had brunch with Natalia and Maya who already lived with their spouses in San Antonio and were friends of Quinn's from Experiment #9. They all opted to lounge by the pool where Manny met up with them.
He was a hit with the girls like Jade knew he would be. They spent down time snacking and drinking before getting ready in their conjoined hotel rooms. Jade opted to share her room with Manny because she knew Quinn and Jenna snored like wildebeests. Natalia and Maya opted to head back home after the festivities.
"You look amazing, Mama." Manny cheered as he took a shot. "You look handsome yourself, love." Jade was pacing herself. She agreed to two drinks while out and two shots while getting ready.
She couldn't afford to look sloppy and have it on the cover of every gossip site in the morning. She wouldn't embarrass herself or Jason like that. Her phone chimed and she checked it before smiling.
Lyle: Just finished for the night. What's on the agenda for the bride?
Jade: Getting ready right now with drinks. Come to my room 1509.
"Jason texting you?" Manny asked straightening his button down. "No. My friend Lyle. He's here for work so I told him stop by for a drink. You'll like him. He's really nice."
Manny looked at her. "Is he straight?" Jade nodded with a chuckle. "Hmmm. He's a friend, but had you smiling like you got a 'U up?' text." Jade waved him off. "He's just a friend, Manny. Jason Taylor Tatum has my heart and always will."
Manny smiled at that as they heard the door. "Go take out the rollers. I'll answer it." Jade nodded before heading to their large bathroom. Manny opened the door with a smile.
"Oh. I'm sorry." Lyle said looking at the room number on the wall. "I'm looking for Jade Tatum." Manny nodded waving him in. "Come in! She'll be out in a minute."
Lyle smiled and made his way over to the living room area. "I'm Manny Ortega. I'm a fellow spouse of an Astros player." Lyle nodded his head. "Luis Ortega?" Manny nodded with a smile.
"So, you and Jade are friends..." Lyle chuckled with a nod. "Her sister is marrying my brother." Manny clapped his hands. "You're Elijah's brother! I knew you looked familiar from the pictures. You're darker than he is." Lyle chuckled. "He took after our very Dutch father and I took after our Columbian mother."
Manny nodded his head. "Well, your future sister-in-law is a riot. We've bonded in the past few hours and I've found a friend for life in that one." Lyle nodded his head in agreement. "Quinn is pretty amazing like that. Jade too."
Manny hummed a response as he looked him over. "So, you and Jade...just friends?" Lyle looked at him before nodding. "Just friends. She's an amazing woman, but I was friend zoned from the start and I'm good with that. I'm appreciative just having her in my life. She's also very much married and I respect that."
Manny liked his answer and nodded. "You're a good one, Lyle Scott. I hope you find the girl for you." Lyle chuckled with a shrug. "I'm in no rush. Love finds you when it's ready and not a moment before. I think Jade and Jason are proof of that." Manny nodded at him before they heard heels on the floor. "Ready."
