Jason and Jade found themselves sitting at a sushi bar in midtown across from Elizabeth. She had spent the last five minutes berating Jason for ruining her modeling career. "How am I supposed to feed myself and therefore your fucking child if I'm not making any money, Jason?"
Jason looked at her bored. "You still have those Ross and Marshalls contracts you started out with when you were young, Elizabeth." She glared at him. "Didn't you also want to become an actress? Look into that avenue of work. I hear the adult film industry is looking for stars." He smirked at her causing her to snarl at him.
This wasn't how things were supposed to go for her. She was supposed to get him back or at least have the things his wealth and status could afford. She didn't give a damn about being a family.
She would've gotten rid of the baby if she knew she could still have what she wanted. Elizabeth hated the baby that was ruining the body she paid for. She just wanted Jason. She wanted the life that he was giving his Black bitch and would even settle for the life they once had.
Elizabeth thought the fanfare of giving the great Jason Taylor Tatum his heir would be enough to pull him back. She wasn't sure if he wanted kids or not, but she was banking that his ego damn sure wanted a legacy.
Elizabeth was enjoying the spotlight regardless of size. There weren't as many outlets swarming her like she hoped, but there were still enough buzz around her name thanks to the baby that had her in the magazines on a weekly basis.
She looked at Jason angrily. She knew she should've made a sex tape of them at least. It was so 2000's but it would've gotten the job done. She would've made millions and would not be worried about how she was going to make her money last for the next year.
It would be easy if more media stations were taking her bait about milestones with the baby or Jason's lack of involvement. Instead, they were focused on how amazing Jade was for sticking by her man or how dedicated Jason was as a husband thanks to the various Instagram posts he made about his wife.
It was sickening and frustrating and Elizabeth could see her career, millions and status flowing down the drain eventually. She wouldn't stand for it. She had to be heard. She needed to be seen. She demanded the attention.
Elizabeth felt the annoying kicks that usually made her want to kick the brat right back, but smiled at the opportunity. "Your baby has been really active today. Come feel them kick."
Jason shook his head. "I'm good." Jade hit him in the ribs with her elbow. "What?" He retorted. "I'm good." Elizabeth watched as Jade sighed and shook her head.
"Can I feel?" Jade smiled truly wanting the baby to feel her positive energy in what she felt was a sea of bullshit. "No." Elizabeth said not shocking her. "Look Elizabeth, the fact is we are that baby's family. Not you and you know that." Jason snapped lowly.
"Your games and schemes aren't working and they were never going to even if Jade wasn't in the picture. I never cared for you like you wanted and deep down I know you know that. Start treating my wife with the respect she deserves or I'll make things even worse for you the moment my baby drops."
Jade rubbed Jason's thigh to calm him as the waiter came by to take their orders. Jade hated that the sushi spot was the venue Elizabeth chose, but she understood why upon entering.
They were seated on the patio where paparazzi flashes could be seen all around. Jade couldn't understand some people's obsession with fame and Elizabeth was beyond fixated on it.
Jason was feeling hungry and opted for a few pieces of a dragon roll. Elizabeth looked at Jade when she waved off the waiter and sipped on her water. "Why aren't you ordering? You too good for this place? It's the hottest sushi restaurant in Houston. Your Black ass should be grateful."
