Jade repeated instructions to Harry who chuckled at her. "Little girl, I raised two boys of my own. Go to that damn fundraiser and leave me be." Jade huffed out a chuckle.
"We've got him, sweetheart. You go enjoy." Jade looked at Hannah Jean and smiled. She was rocking a bald head like the badass that she was. Hannah Jean realized from revealing her diagnosis that the truth really did set one free and did wonders for her and her health.
The children and grandchildren could see the major differences in her as the weeks went on. She seemed lighter despite the chemo and was open and honest with her feelings on the days when things seemed heavy and bleak.
Jade smiled at them as she took them in holding her son. Tonight was the night and she was scared out of her mind. Papa Melnik was on it in terms of assuring her that nothing bad would happen and she couldn't help but scoff at him. She swiftly reminded him that was the first thing on the Do Not Say list of every good mafia book per Wattpad instruction.
"Is everything alright, sweetheart?" Hannah Jean asked looking at Jade. She gave her a big smile, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Everything is going to be fine. Take care of him, okay?" The older woman nodded her head.
Jade took Jake from her for the fourth time and showered him with kisses. "Mommy loves you so much, Jacob. I want you to always remember that." Jade whispered before taking a big whiff of his scent. "I love you more than the sun, more than the moon, more than the stars in the sky." She kissed him once more before handing him back to Hannah Jean.
Hannah Jean smiled down at the infant. She was so excited to spend the night with her grandchildren while their parents went out to raise money and time travel back to the 90's. She could tell Jade and Jason were wound up. They had been since they came back from Jenna's family farm.
She knew the stalker still being at large was taking its toll, but she didn't want it stealing their joy. She hoped tonight would be good for them. Hannah Jean prayed that tonight was exactly what they needed to let go and just enjoy.
"You sure you guys are good?" Jade asked nervously once more. "This is why I told you to spend some more time away from Jake. He feels your anxiety." Hannah Jean scolded as she rocked a crying Jake.
He had gotten chunkier like Jade knew he would. He also darkened up a little more, but she knew that would be his color moving forward. He was lighter than what she envisioned Jaxon's skin color to be but he was perfectly theirs.
"Tummy time, mister." Hannah Jean said to Jake before laying him on his playmat. She brought him some toys and watched as Havok and Penny settled down near the infant. They were dog sitting as well since Quinn and the guys were off for quick getaway.
"He's fine, see. Go and get ready for your fundraiser. You've worked so hard on this and now it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labor." Jade smiled at them before looking at her son once more. "Mommy loves you, Jakey." She didn't miss the smile on his face as she ran out to head home and change.
