Days had passed and Jade was still giving him the silent treatment. It was Wednesday night and they were supposed to be leaving for their cruise Friday afternoon. He had no idea if she would even entertain the idea of a cruise with him. She wasn't even speaking to him.
Jason huffed before trying once again to get comfortable on the loveseat. He could've gone to another room. He could've let her have their bedroom to herself, but he was selfish. He wanted to be near her. He wanted to be close, so for days he further injured his neck squeezing onto the small couch.
Jade woke up to a loud thump and sat up. She found Jason rubbing his head on the floor and sighed. She got out of bed and walked over to him. Jason was shocked when Jade held out her hands.
He took them instantly and smiled as she helped him up and led him to bed. They got in and Jason thought he would fly until he tried to cuddle her.
Jade slapped the shit out of his arm before kicking him over. She made sure to put pillows in between them for good measure. "Goodnight, pretty girl." Jason said with a pout.
She didn't respond which he knew she wouldn't. He was going to have to work harder to get her forgiveness. Jason knew he had to show Jade that she was still and always would be his number one priority.
It was 4am and he was up. He listened to her soft snores and thanked God, like he did every day since she came back home, for the opportunity to hear her sleep sounds again.
He grabbed his phone and smiled at the confirmation emails showing that Elizabeth Holland's career was truly over. She really thought she could fuck with him and not get destroyed as a result. He wanted to laugh at her naiveté but he didn't want to wake his wife up.
He already had a meeting with a notable judge that had agreed to handle the matter of his full custody request. Elizabeth had told him before his bachelor party that she was a little over three months pregnant, which meant she was a little over four months now. He had five more months to deal with her stupidity before his baby would be in their home and raised by the mother they deserved.
Jason couldn't help but caress Jade's cheek. She looked so peaceful. Content. When she moaned out this name in her sleep his heart swelled. "I'll make it right, babe. I promise."
He kissed her lips before getting out of bed. Jason unfortunately had a conference with some of his teammates that morning. He wasn't in the mood as he knew what reporters were going to ask.
He opted for a workout and got changed before heading out for a run in the neighborhood. Running helped him clear his mind and that's what he needed. There was only one person that remained front and center.
This person was who he needed to convince to take a trip with him. It was going to be tough, but not impossible. Even then, Jason knew he'd do the impossible for Jade Tatum.
Jade woke up to the smell of bacon. She looked and didn't find Jason beside her. She did however find a covered plate of bacon, scrambled eggs with cheese and her favorite biscuits buttered with grape jelly.
"This fool is really trying to worm his way back into my good graces with this delicious food." Jade huffed as she took a bite and moaned. "Is it working?" Jason asked from the doorway.
Jade glared at him before shaking her head no. "Come on, babe. No more silent treatment. I need to hear your sweet voice." Jade shook her head no. "Fine. Can I ask you a series of yes or no questions to get some clarity?" Jade nodded her head yes.
"Did you sleep well?" She nodded. "Do you have anything to do today?" She shook her head no. "Anything planned for this weekend?" She shook her head no.
