Chapter 37

It was very close to dawn. The sounds of crashing was heard from outside as you were trying to sleep in until 10am. You tried to put a pillow over your head, tuck into your covers, roll over and put more pillows on your head.

You then go towards your balcony and open it and look down towards the village. The lycans were taking some houses apart for scraps. You then moan and roll your eyes.

"Will you keep it down? There are people trying to sleep!" You yell down to them. They gain your attention and begin to laugh and mimic you as you tried to tell them to be quiet and they got louder doing it just to annoy you.

Your eye twitches with frustration and you form a snowball (since it snowed a lot were you lived all the time except Summer) and threw it at them. They then turned back and threw another one right at you. You ducked down as it was about to hit you.

"Is that all you... WOAH!" You shout down and even more snowballs come at you. You run to the door and close it. You could hear laughter from outside and you grumble in rage as they annoyed you.

You went to your bed and tried to sleep throughout the noises but it was just too loud to even try to sleep peacefully. Your grasp gets harder on the pillows and you simply had enough of this.

You wanted to throw weapons at them so they could be quiet but they would throw them back at you, you wanted to tell your mother but again, she told you not to leave the room in case of emergencies until she gets you in the mornings or night and this wasn't really an emergency call, and you wanted to form into your dragon form and scare them off but you are not allowed to do it to another being's eye unless it is absolutely necessary like running away from a successful raid in the castle or to attack a powerful enemy when they lay a powerful hit on you.

"THIS ISNT FAIR!" You shout hitting your mattress. For the next few hours, you sat there tired and wanted the noises to end and you could sleep. You then went out to the balcony again and threw a stone at one of them hitting him in the eye.

They all looked up at you and ran off dragging the one who got hit in the eye. You sighed with relief getting them to go away and you lied in your bed happily.

After sleeping until the time you wanted to wake up at which was 10am. You were brought downstairs. You had breakfast and now you were on the sofa simply sitting there.

You did absolutely nothing and nobody was around you. Your sisters were doing something in different rooms and for your mother, she was in her studies working on notes. You then get off the sofa and walked around the castle and get a vision of a huge stone on the floor placed by those lycans for you to step on and impail your foot. You also seen where they went you stopped were the stone was and walked towards their hiding spot and killed them with your claws and threw them out the door.

So you continued your stroll and walked up and down the halls. You looked at the paintings and you come across one with the plaque underneath it saying, 'Three daughters. Bela, Cassandra and Daniela.'

You guessed that it was made a long time before you came to the castle and wanted to tweak it but you did not want to get in trouble for drawing on the paintings or the plaque.

You then moved on and went into the room with the giant painting of your mother and looked around it and seeing if it had some other things to look at. You find a diary however from a maiden in the castle and you skimmed through it.

It seems like she had worked here for years. You read through it and seen that she got the job in 1970 and left in 1982. You read through it and found out the maidens were treated very badly in the castle. If they made one mistake at all, they got killed or badly injured.

Didn't mommy say she treated the maidens well and they all left because they missed their families?

Then you got into the middle of the 1970s and that maiden was heavily favoured by your mother. She brought in her wine, brought out her food, did her hair and for her reward, she got... YOUR ROOM? You are now sleeping in her room?

You keep reading on and find out as the years went by, your mother got HEAVILY creepy with her sometimes calling her, "My Love." and she felt uncomfortable with it. Then you finally hit 1982 and you find out that she did not leave the castle, she got selected for Sanguis Virginus. Her last note was a goodbye to her own family she loved for years.

You closed the book and added that lie of "Maidens left to go home." to the collections of lies your mother has told you. Why does she keep lying about stories. It is fine for her to tell you the truth since she owns you now and you would not tell anybody.

You then find another one. Same story, she worked there from the sixties to 1979, cause of death was again, Sanguis Virginus and you read through all of them and all the deaths are the same reason.

You then hear your name being called. You dash off to the main room and see your mother sitting down waiting for you. You go down to her and as soon as you were on your first step, her eyes went to you.

"Ah, there you are. I heard some lycans were annoying you this morning. I dealt with it and now they have a strict curfew of when they can go pulling off materials off the old shacks." She says as you walk down to her.

As you were going in on the hug, you start to think of something. Should you ask her about why you keep getting told lies from her? Is it a good idea?

You take the courage and ask.

"Mommy... those stories you tell me... why do you... lie about them." You ask her nervously.

She then widens her eyes. "Lie? What do you mean dearest?" She asks sitting you up on her lap on the sofa.

"I know what happened to the maidens. You lied about treating them nicely and letting them go home to their families. They all died for your feasting." You tell her worrying that something terrible is going to happen.

She then takes a breath. "I am sorry. I just wanted to tell you all the stories here that were awful and tried to make them lighthearted that you are just a child. We do not really do things nicely here and you very well know because you seen what I had done to those intruders that pop in here and there." She says feeling sorrow in her heart as she tries to explain.

"Is that story about Gregory true?" You ask her. She nods. "I promise, I won't lie to you anymore." She says hugging you.

"Now then. Off you pop dear. I have things to do." She says lowing herself off the sofa trying to slide you onto your feet off her lap.

You go into your playroom and you then see something. You run to your window and see all this gooey stuff out in the village and it looked gross. Then this giant monster thing came out that looked like a fish and had bodies in it's mouth and went into a lake that was behind it.

"What was that thing?" You wonder to yourself.
